JFK said children are our most valuable resource and our best hope for the future. With that said, why would we not invest in our children? These are challenging times. Every day seems to bring some sort of new hurdle or obstacle whether it be the pandemic, school shootings, an economic recession; the list goes on. Talking to someone can make this an easier load to carry, and who wouldn't want that?

Stop feeding OCD , STARVE IT.
Are you struggling with obsessive , intrusive, or disturbing thoughts that seem stuck or looping in your head? Do you find yourself compulsively arguing with "yourself" or doing repetitive behaviors in an urgent effort to bring down your anxiety? Are you beating yourself up for thinking these kinds of thoughts? Often intrusive thoughts can be very scary, violent, and go against the very things you value and hold dear. Sometimes it's very challenging to even say theses thoughts out loud! I offer you a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to share what is burdening you. I'll teach you to conquer the OCD bully.

You did it! You took a very important and BIG first step, which took courage and strength which is all we need for this next part. If you are feeling fatigued by COVID, depressed, anxious, experiencing relationship stress, job challenges, and perhaps eating and drinking to 'help', you have come to the right place, and YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Therapy often leads to a significant reduction of feelings of distress, as well as facilitating resolution of specific problems and better interpersonal relationships. I have years of experience to help you get more 'tools' in your toolbox so you can learn to cope with life's up and downs better.

I have a special interest in obsessive -compulsive disorder, phobias, and social anxiety.
Everyone feels anxious in certain situations. Anxiety motivates us to prepare for important events and protects us when we are in harm's way. However, anxiety becomes problematic when it is out of proportion to the situation in a way that interferes with a child's ability to learn, maintain friendships, and have fun. Affecting approximately one in eight children, anxiety disorders are the most frequently occurring behavioral health disorders. Though anxiety disorders are among the most treatable behavioral health disorders, only about one-third of those suffering from anxiety receive treatment.

I provide counseling and neurofeedback for trauma, anxiety, OCD , ADHD, stress management, family conflict, domestic abuse, and acculturation and enculturation difficulties.
What is the one thing in the world that everyone has? A story. Events & experiences that have shaped you into the person you are. A culture and heritage that you cherish. A society that you grew up in. I'd like to listen to your story. I'd like to be a mirror through which not only can you see your present self, but you can reflect on your past life (if you wish), & visualize your future. When you come into counseling, you are coming into a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share your joy & your pain, your frustrations & your aspirations. No one knows you better than you, & no one can take your story away from you.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions). It affects children, kids, teens and adults. Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety. A person's level of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if severe and left untreated, it can destroy a person's capacity to function at work, at school or even to lead a comfortable existence in the home.
