Have you experienced any trauma in your life? Are you feeling stuck or alone? Feeling trapped is what happens to us when we experience something that overwhelms our body and takes away our capacity to feel a sense of safety. Imagine what it would feel like to live without that feeling of isolation, but with connection? Connection to self and others. To feel embodied, to have voice and choice, to advocate your needs, to dream, to live, and to have compassion for self.

Or as a new parent, maybe pregnancy, birth, infertility, or postpartum weren’t what you expected.
For over a decade, I've supported grieving adults and families as they navigate life after loss. Having kids of my own, I became passionate about helping new parents feel calm, confident, and capable, and find small moments of connection and joy in parenting. I am particularly enthusiastic about working with parents of multiples, being a twin mom myself.

Maybe you're pregnant or newly postpartum, and the experience looks nothing like you expected.
I draw on IFS to explore the parts of yourself with curiosity rather than judgment, and Polyvagal Theory to bring awareness to how your nervous system shapes the way you feel and relate. Together, these approaches create change that isn't just intellectual — it's something you actually feel.

Ever wonder "Why does everyone else seem so... fine?" You're not broken — you're human.Life has a way of shaking us loose. A relationship ending, a career pivot gone sideways, the emotional weight of infertility, motherhood, or grief — these aren't small things. They have a way of making even the most capable people feel like they're failing at being a person.I work with people who are exhausted from trying so hard and still feeling like it's not enough. Reaching out for therapy isn't a white flag — it's one of the bravest things you can do for yourself. You don't have to have it all together to start. That's kind of the whole point

Do you ever ask your partner a question, and, by their tone or the way they walk away, you can tell that something went wrong? Or, you get home from work and feel a familiar, tense feeling in the air? From those small signals and vibes, you can typically then predict how the rest of the interaction will go. That's where I come in. Each authentic session will be tailored to you, or you and your partner, addressing real issues in a way that resonates with everyone. I'll call you out on the ways that you are spinning your wheels and how to get out of that rut.

I was inspired to become a therapist through my own therapy journey during undergraduate school. At a time when I felt unsure of myself, my therapist created a calming, supportive space that helped me grow—and I knew I wanted to do the same for others. I understand how intimidating starting therapy can feel, so I focus on helping clients feel at ease and gradually settle into the process.

Life is challenging and I truly believe that we are all doing our best to navigate its complexities. However, we don’t get it right all the time and so it leads us to face the consequences of our own choices and the choices of others. These consequences can sometimes feel overwhelming, trapping us in ineffective, old strategies. As your counselor, my goal is to help you find safety, empowerment, and be fully present so that you can be the person you were created to be. Together, we will work through your current struggles, resolve past hurts, and gain insight into how these experiences shape your present choices and relationships.

My role as your therapist begins with creating a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your journey so far. You'll guide me through your choices, why you made them and where, what and who you want to be next, and together we'll find ways to get from where you are now to where you want to be. You can be an individual, a couple, parent/child, polyamorous group or any family shape you can think of!

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
