I provide sessions in-person and virtually via video.
I see therapy as something that should be tailored to each person as it is not a one-size-fits-all process. The purpose isn't to create lifelong dependence but to build skills and insight so people can eventually move forward on their own. I love helping clients through major life transitions whether that's career uncertainty, school changes, moving, or navigating cultural and family gaps. My work focuses on building clarity, self esteem, and coping skills so that you can feel more confident in experiencing change, strengthen relationships, and move forward with a stronger sense of direction.

Accepting new clients! Things have been hard lately, or maybe for a while. You aren't feeling like yourself and are wondering what needs to change to feel better. Maybe your mood feels out of whack, your attention or motivation is non-existent, or you're struggling just to do the normal everyday things. Maybe you've experienced trauma recently, or in your past, and you like you need to let go of whatever it might be. Whatever the reason you are seeking help now, you are courageous for taking this first step, and you don't have to do this alone.

Hi there, I’m Shanbria! If you’re here, you might be carrying more than you let anyone see—old wounds, anxious thoughts, or patterns you can’t seem to break. Maybe you’ve spent years being the strong one, the perfect one, the helper, the peace-keeper, and now you feel disconnected from who you are beneath all of that. I work with people who feel stuck between their past and the version of themselves they’re trying to grow into. You’ve tried to figure it out on your own, but something still feels off. My style is warm and curious, and I’ll help you make sense of what’s underneath your stress so healing finally feels possible.

Are you having a hard time getting over something in your past? Feeling stuck? Maybe you’ve just felt “off,” not quite yourself, not the person you want to be. Sometimes you wonder what is wrong with you, why you can’t seem to relax and enjoy yourself the way other people do. There's nothing wrong with you, and I'm here to tell you: you can heal. I liken therapy to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where they fortify broken pottery with gold to create more beautiful, precious works than the originals. Like mending cracks with gold, the healing work of therapy can transform your struggles and scars into stunning strength and resilience.

I offer in person sessions in a warm and relaxed environment.
You’re used to being the strong responsible one—the one who holds everything together—but lately the stress, pain, and exhaustion is catching up with you. Do you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? You are feeling the effects of burnout, chronic pain, a difficult transition, or wounds from the past that still echo in the present. You want relief, clarity, and a place where you can finally set the weight down for a while. Most of all, you want to feel calmer, steadier, more connected to yourself, and hopeful again.

I offer testing remotely/ in-person with concierge in-home same-day services via Hill Country Neuropsychology; talk therapy online via video
I see kids, teens, and adults who are bright, thoughtful, and exhausted from trying to hold it all together, hoping testing might bring answers. Maybe no one has truly seen them. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, burnout, or some religious trauma, and maybe they wonder if ADHD or autism explains lifelong patterns. They need clarity, validation, and practical next steps: and zero judgment. Their goal is to understand their brain, reduce shame, and function with more ease. They want answers so they can stop blaming themselves and start living confidently and authentically. I'm a trained neuropsychologist and here to help.

I am a licensed master’s-level social worker who studied at the University of Texas at Austin's Steve Hicks School of Social Work. My experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings with adult and adolescent populations has helped to inform my systems-based approach to therapy. This approach views behaviors not in isolation but as part of a system of factors where solutions require a holistic approach.

My role as your therapist begins with creating a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your journey so far. You'll guide me through your choices, why you made them and where, what and who you want to be next, and together we'll find ways to get from where you are now to where you want to be. You can be an individual, a couple, parent/child, polyamorous group or any family shape you can think of!

I do virtual or in-person visits in my cozy Main Street office.
I help overwhelmed adults, struggling parents, and disconnected couples find clarity, connection, and peace at home. Whether you’re facing a child’s intense behaviors, feeling worn down by life, or stuck in the same arguments, I offer a supportive space to explore what’s beneath the surface. Using play therapy, sandtray, parent coaching, and Imago therapy, I focus on the whole family system—not just symptoms—to help you build healthier patterns and more fulfilling relationships. You don’t have to do this alone.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
