I come from a trauma-informed approach with EMDR Certification, IFS-Informed, and in Somatic Experiencing Training.
Sometimes, the pain we carry feels too heavy for words. Counseling offers a space to gently explore that pain, giving it room to breathe so healing can begin. We may not be able to change the past, but together we can focus on where you are now and work toward the life you want moving forward. It’s okay if the process feels overwhelming—you're not in it alone. With the right support, change is possible, and you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

I help couples and families uncover their true selves, heal inner trauma, and build the emotional responsiveness needed to feel deeply loved.
Partner 1: "I reach for you, but it feels like you’re already gone. I’m left wondering if I matter to you at all." Partner 2: "When you come close, I feel the pressure to be perfect. I can’t get it right, so I pull back to protect us both." These unspoken messages live under the surface in many relationships. One partner is aching for connection, the other is protecting against pain—both are lonely, both are longing, both are stuck. I help couples break free from this anxious–avoidant cycle so they can feel safe, seen, and deeply connected again.

I believe we’re all searching for more light in our lives, but for many, a certain type of light is sought. This kind of light breaks trauma, weakens anxiety, and brings healing to strained relationships. It’s a hope-filled light that reminds us darkness doesn’t last forever. Some of the best guides are those who’ve walked through darkness themselves. By God’s grace and with the help of others, I found the light during my own dark times and learned to strengthen it—and now I help others do the same. As a counselor, wife, and parent of an autistic child, I bring both professional insight and personal understanding to the work I do.

We utilize a trauma informed approach combining evidence-based interventions.
Sometimes life can throw a lot at us and we are hesitant to ask for help when we need it. Stress can come from various places and can often hide making it challenging to see what’s coming until it’s right on top of us. This can lead to emotional dysregulation which can cause us to feel lost or a sense of instability. Being here now is a big step in the healing process. Together we will work to create a safe space for you and/or your loved one to create support and establish skills needed to bring balance and stability back into your life. We will help you tap into your inner abilities so that you can be your most authentic you.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
