Counseling involves listening, reflecting, analyzing, reframing and desensitizing. Role playing, rehearsal and relaxation training are often used. Healing emotional wounds and restoring damaged relationships are often the goals of psychotherapy.
I have several areas of specialization. I help couples save their marriages by managing anger and improving communication. I help people with individual goals, like managing anxiety, anger, depression, and bi-polar disorder.
I do identify myself as a Christian counselor. I encourage people to meditate on specific psalms and scriptures and to pray. I believe people should try to save marriages. I believe we should study Christ's teachings so we can become more like Him in our thoughts and actions.
