As a therapist, I seek to empower my clients with the knowledge that they hold the key to their well being and help them develop the skills they need to access this ability on a daily basis. My compassion, empathy, and love of people along with my own life journey is what compelled me to enter the field of counseling. My primary theoretical model is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), combined with faith-based counseling. My counseling philosophy is from a holistic point of view addressing the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of a person. I also believe therapy must be tailored to the individual as no two people are the same.

My goal is to provide you a safe space to guide you into a state of awareness, re-gain self-trust, promote positive thinking, and willing actions. Since I was younger I have always had a passion in helping people especially in my community. I grew up in a culture and society that believed mental health issues was thought of as "weak", "It's all in your head.", or "you need to just need to get over it". I aim to continue to fight against mental health stigma and promote mental health awareness and support. This encourages me to continue to do what I love and help others that need guidance or support in the process.

I utilize a wide range of modalities such as Client-Centered Therapy, Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Family Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. I firmly believe that people are people regardless of their chosen labels or the ones society puts on them. I am very straightforward with my approach and don't sugarcoat my words, but it does not mean I am harsh and uncaring. I won't yell and expect the same respect; I will listen fully with love and kindness and speak to you with heart. Sometimes the truth may seem painful to hear, but it will lead you to a better mental state and life.

The therapeutic relationship is the key factor in your success. As you build trust in me to "get in your head" and see what's going on internally with your thoughts, emotions and behaviors, I'll start to make connections and ask questions to give you the space to safely process and gain clarity. Many of my clients are emerging from relational trauma, attachment wounds, or need to work on building self esteem and identity. Let's work together to help you feel more in tune with yourself, those you're in relationships with, and use any discomfort as motivation to work towards feeling joy again and building the life you want!

After years of working with individuals from all walks of life, my goal with each of my clients is to assist them in fostering their own sense of self. Often, we already know the solutions to the problems we face, but the stress of life can make identifying them a challenge. By using a mindfulness centered approach my hope is to walk with my clients in their journeys towards those answers. The tools I use in my practice are CBT, IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness modalities; along with a healthy dose of psycho-education.

When life feels overwhelming, I help my folks work through anxiety, trauma, and transitions by addressing what’s at the root and creating space for true healing and restoration. If you are feeling overwhelmed, burdened, or weighed down by past and present experiences, there is space here for healing and growth. I use EMDR to help uncover the ‘it’ that brought you to seek healing, and with guidance, we process it so true healing can take place from the inside out.

You may be the strong one who holds it together for everyone else yet internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or never quite “enough.” I work with children, teens, and adults who are ready to understand where those patterns began and how to shift them. Together, we move beyond surface-level coping and explore the deeper roots of anxiety, trauma, and emotional overwhelm so you can feel more grounded and whole.

Have you been carrying the weight of “keeping it all together,” even though inside, you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just not quite yourself? From the outside, it might seem like you’re managing—balancing responsibilities—but inwardly, something feels off. Maybe you’ve recently gone through a major life shift it’s stirred up emotions or patterns you didn’t expect. Perhaps it’s not one big event, but the quiet, persistent feeling that something needs to change. I specialize in helping women and first responders navigate the complex emotional load of anxiety, trauma, life transitions, infertility, and depression and much more.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.
How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.
What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.
Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.
What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.
What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.
Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.
Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.
Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
