I prefer working with ages 10+, adults, couples and families.
NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!!! Sometimes a past traumatic experience can resurface at a time that we are least expecting it. Finding friends and family members who are supportive can become difficult. We simply don't feel heard or understood. Life can also continue to throw unexpected situations in our way that we do not feel ready to face. I love working with clients who are trying to find themselves in different stages of their life. I have experience working with clients who have past trauma, divorce, martial disagreements and blended family conflict.

Clients I see are usually struggling with couple/ relationship problems, parenting difficulty, blended family issues, anger, anxiety, adjusting to difficult life issues, and depression. Most clients are not enjoying life and want help making some changes and finding their way through pain, circumstances, and difficulty. About half of my client's are looking for a therapist who can identify with a Christian/Biblical perspective as well. I am currently only offering Teletherapy.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, communication issues, as well as family of origin trauma.
This past year has been extremely challenging, tiring, and heartbreaking so perhaps, it’s time for a mental and emotional check-up. You may be dealing with feelings you’ve never experienced before on top of having to show up for yourself, friends, family, loved ones, and work. Life is hard on its own, not to mention having to navigate work, school, friendships and other relationships, family, and a pandemic. It can be overwhelming and spark fear, anxiety, depression, and conflict in everyone. Therapy can be a place where you recognize and confront those feelings and thoughts while also striving to be the person you want to be.

I value honesty and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship to create a safe, supportive environment to break through obstacles and patterns that inhibit change.
As humans we all experience various types of adversity over the lifespan. I believe these challenges can be an opportunity for healing, growth, and renewal. As a professional counselor with over 20 years of combined experience, I recognize how difficult it can be to be vulnerable and seek help. I create a warm, compassionate environment where you are able to be yourself, as I assist you in processing your feelings, gaining self-awareness, and exploring unhealthy patterns of thinking, behaving and relating. I work with you to reimagine and achieve the healthiest version of yourself within your relationships, workplace, and family.

In addition to anxiety and depression, I treat trauma and those that desire to explore their sexuality and/or have relationship problems.
Society tells us what to feel, enjoy, experience, and what is beautiful. Screw societal norms and expectations. Let's break those barriers and create new norms. Want to try kink, poly, or open marriage? Great! Let's find the best way to do it! Feel that panic growing during confrontation? So do I. Let's find healthy ways to reduce it. Having relationship problems? We all do, no one is perfect; but we can learn to communicate better. Overweight? Me too! I'm beautiful and so are you!

Our life experiences, culture, background, and relationship with ourselves and our mental health are incredibly unique and personal. This is why I enjoy getting to know my clients and finding an approach that works best for their needs rather than sticking to a “one size fits all” approach.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
