I specialize in trauma (in particular, sexual assault & domestic violence), plus grief and anxiety disorders.
Life can be messy, overwhelming, and downright exhausting. Maybe you’re carrying trauma, anxiety, or grief, and you’re tired of doing it alone. You want to understand yourself better, regain control, and start healing—but you’re not exactly sure what that looks like yet. If you’re ready to take that first, imperfect step, I’m here. No fluff, no judgment—just a real, safe space where you can be seen, heard, and start moving forward on your own terms. After working in federal prison for seven years, my approach is direct, straightforward, and grounded in real-world experience- I've "heard it all" which helps create a safe space.

Closer, now: I believe that it is important to focus on the present moment with a holistic, present-centered, and existential point of view. With an empathetic approach and a goal to build a safe and warm space, I aim to help my clients by fostering growth within their own self-awareness, self-direction, and personal freedom. I believe the best way to help is by creating an environment where my clients feel strengthened, confident, and free to grow within themselves.

If you grew up walking on eggshells, questioning your reality, putting everyone else's needs first, or carrying shame that doesn't feel like it belongs to you, you're not alone. Childhood abuse, sexual trauma, and high-control environments can leave lasting effects long after the danger has passed, shaping how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. I specialize in helping survivors understand and heal the patterns trauma created. Using approaches such as EMDR, IFS-informed therapy, somatic interventions, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I help clients move beyond survival mode.

One of my beliefs is that people cannot truly love, or allow themselves to be loved in return, if we do not first find a way to love ourselves. Fundamentally, we can become wounded because of relationships, which in-turn, adversely affect how we interpret our own meaning and attachment to the world and others. However, as we grow in awareness and care for self, we can begin to heal in relationships just the same. This is accomplished by working through those past wounds which tend to manifest in and become the present behaviors and intentions that harm us and others.

You feel overwhelmed, stuck, or just exhausted from acting like everything’s okay. Maybe your anxiety is all over the place, your relationships feel confusing, or you’re dealing with a heaviness you can’t explain. You just want to feel calmer, more confident, and actually understood. I work with teens and adults who want healthier connections, steadier emotions, and a life that finally feels a little lighter and more real.

Many people look to counseling as a means to develop a plan for tackling life's obstacles or to gain perspective - be it life pressures, trouble with romantic relationships, parent-child relationships, or family relationships, job related stress, life transitions, or symptoms of anxiousness, moodiness, and/or lack of happiness. Counseling can provide a safe place to emotionally and relationally explore solutions that are right for you. I help my clients learn about themselves and build skills to remove the obstacles that block a healthier, happier path both in and out of session through assigned homework to build better habits.

Are you having difficulty managing feelings of nervousness or fear, feeling alone or isolated, or feeling restless or on edge? Do you find it challenging to cope with the difficulties of adjusting to hard situations, like life changes, social pressures, or family issues? Anxiety often shows up as persistent worry, difficulty concentrating, restlessness, or physical symptoms. When combined with the stress of adjusting to challenges like academic pressure, social issues, or family changes, anxiety can worsen, leading to low self-esteem, or even depression. Without support, these struggles may escalate to long-term problems.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
