Life and relationships are especially difficult when depression , anxiety, or grief get in the way. Maybe you find yourself overreacting to the smallest things, frozen by overwhelming emotions, or fighting the same battles with the people you love every single day. If your loved ones are saying you are the problem, or if you don't feel good about how you behaved in an argument, it can add even more stress and shame to an already stressful life. We never learned how to cope with these things in school, so why should we be expected to do it right without any guidance?

Most of my clients need help managing their day to day stressors that bring on anxiety and depression . Most want practical, real- world strategies that are solution focused. They want to be heard and they want reassurance that life can be better. Some people want to “rebrand” themselves to become who they truly want to be and I help them do just that. People want help with self development and self care to enhance their lives. Most people need to tell their story to someone that cares and that they trust. They want to talk with someone that understands and that has insight to help.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
