Brokenness comes from relationships, and brokenness comes from the individual's heart. Perhaps you are struggling with the pain of a broken heart and have no way to repair it, and your life is bleak with no future in sight. When I was young, I also experienced a "broken heart," which is hard to describe! After that, I regained my faith and finished my Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling, CCPC (7000 hours of practice), and became a senior lecturer in Marriage and Family Counseling. Twenty years ago, I received nearly 1,000 Chinese with various kinds of "brokenness" psychological problems.

I am deeply committed to supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others and caring for our most vulnerable community members. My practice focuses on two essential areas where specialized understanding and compassionate care make a profound difference.I work extensively with mental health professionals, first responders, and community workers who carry the weight of trauma in their daily work. Having witnessed firsthand the unique challenges faced by those in helping professions, I understand the secondary trauma, burnout, and emotional toll that comes with caring for others.

Mental illness lives. Anxiety lives. OCD lives. Addiction lives. Depression lives. Imagine millions of people around the universe waking up with the same dark, aching places you promised you’d never talk about. I’ve noticed how quick we are, as human beings, to push aside the most meaningful parts of our lives. Let’s not push aside the things that need to be talked about. Let’s bring mental illness to the light. The worst thing we can do is ignore it. It exists and it easily consumes. So if you’re struggling right now my role is to listen, discern your strengths and vulnerabilities, and invite growth as you place trust in my care.

I believe that our past experiences shape how we think, behave, and react to new experiences. However, some of our beliefs, fears, and habits hinder us in the present and negatively affect our behaviors. I view my role as helping clients develop alternative ways of thinking in order for clients to reach their desired goals.

Hello! I extend a warm virtual welcome and will like to invite you to a transparent and empathetic safe place that is centered around YOU. A place where there is no right or wrong answer, but one expectation: just BE. Mental Health can be a topic that is very intimidating to discuss with others, but I like to think of mental health as a tune up on your car - you can drive your car for many miles, but eventually you will need adjustments. Like a car, our mind can run, overwork, and eventually break down. However, the good news is that you have an opportunity to get a mental health tune up and make sure your car is running smoothly.

Are you navigating the complexities of multiple identities? Caught between cultures, expectations, and who you're becoming? Maybe you're the child of immigrants feeling pulled between honoring your family and honoring yourself, or you're exploring your gender identity or sexuality while managing what others expect. You might be creative, introspective, and ready for change, but overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, or the weight of roles you never asked to carry. You want a therapist who understands the nuances of your lived experience—someone who won't make you explain what it's like to exist in spaces that weren't built for you.

I’ve been a mental health counselor for 20 years and enjoy working with all ages. My experience includes play, activity and sand tray therapies along with CBT and I’m EMDR certified. I enjoy helping clients figure out where the unhealthy thinking styles come from and learn new ways to think. With all clients, I work towards developing trust and rapport by creating a safe, therapeutic space. My style is making clients feel comfortable with a warm, outgoing and fun atmosphere, which can work very well for those nervous about coming to therapy. We might laugh and cry in session, and I pride myself on connecting.

Does parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) work?
PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective across domains, including for children with behavioral problems, those on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced early childhood trauma. Further, studies have found that the skills developed through PCIT benefit not only the child in therapy but also siblings, as the parent internalizes lessons learned in sessions and is able to incorporate them into interactions with other family members.
How long does PCIT last?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and treatment lasts, on average, between 12 and 20 sessions. Factors that influence treatment duration include how regularly a client attends treatment, how much progress is achieved between sessions, the particular skills that need development, and the extent to which the parent and therapist see improvement.
Can PCIT be done online?
PCIT is among the therapy types best suited for video sessions. Therapists are able to communicate with parents with essentially the same ease, and by observing the parent and child at home in their normal environment, the therapist may gain additional insight into their interactions, as the child will have their normal toys and may feel more comfortable and act more naturally than they would in a therapist’s room.
Does PCIT help parents?
In addition to the skills parents develop through the treatment, PCIT has also been shown to reduce frustration, stress, and depression in parents and promote confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with their children. The desired outcomes of PCIT include a reduction in defiant and aggressive behavior by children and an improvement in communicating their feelings productively, complying with parental instruction, and behaving according to parents’ rules. Growth in these areas can be a relief for parents.
