NOW ACCEPTING INSURANCE. Sometimes we just need to feel seen and heard and our struggles become clearer. Often times our issues resolve themselves when we take a closer look at what we’re truly believing and feeling about ourselves and the situation. You have the answers and there is nothing wrong with you. Whatever your current circumstances may be, I would be honored to assist you on your journey. I have been practicing therapy for over 10 years but more importantly I have done the work myself. The one thing I can promise is that it is easier with someone you trust. I hope I can be that person for you! Thank you.

Who needs counseling? Why do people generally seek counseling?
Counseling should not be a last resort. Many people look to counseling as a means to develop a plan for tackling life's obstacles or gain perspective - be it life pressures, trouble with romantic , parent-child, or family relationships, parenting, job related stress, or transistion.
Counseling can provide a safe place to emotionally and relationally explore
solutions that are right for you.
Not one person's path is the same.

Have you ever wondered what therapy is like? Maybe you feel like things are pretty manageable, but could there be room for improvement? Are you unsure if you'll be able to reach your true potential? Maybe there's a lot of stuff you haven't processed yet. Maybe your relationship could use a turn-up? These are questions that many will ask before making the decision to start therapy. Therapy helps a person understand where they are and where they would like to be. People may be scared to try therapy, not knowing that it is a collaborative process in which the therapist tries to meet the client where they're at first.

Now accepting new clients in office and online! My story: I thought I could do it all & on my own. I was "ok" ignoring all the signs like panic attacks, staying in bed all day, and obsessing over every little decision, mistake or adversity. I've learned to accept some things & change others by understanding that life is what I CHOOSE IT TO BE! My current goal is to help you diminish suicidal thoughts, express yourself more effectively, and manage your moods. I want you to be "ok" and even better than ok!

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.
How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.
Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.
Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
