Sometimes we spend a lifetime searching for answers and trying to unravel the things that have occurred in our lives. Other times, we seek to learn about the future and pathways that we may want to lay out for ourselves. However, at the end of the day, we also need to learn about the present moments and how we transition throughout these various phases of life. Therapy is designed to provide support and a place of safety for the client to explore any and all things that may have already happened in their lives, and the events that may occur as their life continues on.

Although much of my specialized training has been in the treatment of eating disorders and body image disturbance, I also work with depression, anxiety, OCD and relational issues.
I work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify, appreciate and cultivate their strengths so they can utilize them in resolving their difficulties. I use a brief therapy approach to treatment, but the length of treatment depends on the nature of the problem and the needs of the client. I work primarily with adults and older teenagers. The therapeutic relationship is an important part of treatment and it is essential that we feel comfortable working together. A brief consultation would help us to determine if the treatment approach and therapeutic relationship might be a good fit for you.

I specialize in OCD, ADHD, misophonia, perfectionism, and anxiety-related conditions, with expertise in complex presentations and differential diagnosis.
You may be dealing with intrusive thoughts, compulsive patterns, ADHD symptoms that don't fully make sense, intense sound sensitivity, or anxiety and perfectionism that keep pulling you off course. You may also be struggling with executive functions, procrastination, and frequently feeling overwhelmed, which makes it challenging to live according to your goals and values. Sometimes the hardest part is not just the symptoms themselves — it is not having a clear explanation for what is actually going on, especially if previous therapy or past evaluations have not given you real answers or meaningful progress.

I work with adults and teens struggling with OCD and anxiety, with an emphasis on taboo intrusive thoughts and perfectionism.
I specialize in taboo intrusive thoughts—specifically those related to sexuality or harm that feel disturbing and impossible to share. Many clients carry these in silence, fearing judgment while others remain unaware. I also focus on OCD driven by a need for order, which often shows up as rigidity and chronic over-preparation in high-pressure environments.

I am passionate about working with folks who struggle with OCD and anxiety and I love working with couples, family systems, and adolescent-adult age individuals seeking a safe space to explore themselves.
My approach is highly adaptable to your unique needs, while remaining rooted in evidence-based techniques. I draw from several therapeutic modalities, as I believe no one approach is right for everyone, but particularly utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. With my OCD population, I combine ERP with ACT and self-compassion.

I have specialized training in treating anxiety disorders and OCD, and helping families with communication and healthy relationships.
It’s hard to be a human, especially during the years when everything is changing all at once. You’re trying to figure out who you are, how you fit into the world, and how to juggle everything at the same time. With so much uncertainty in the world, it’s no wonder so many young people and families are feeling unsure of what to do next.

I help individuals and couples work through anxiety, OCD, intimacy concerns, and major life transitions using a trauma-informed, sex-positive approach.
My ideal client is a high-functioning individual or couple who appears successful on the outside but feels anxious, disconnected, or unfulfilled on the inside, especially in their intimate or relational life. They may be navigating sexual concerns, desire discrepancies, intrusive thoughts, relationship stress, or identity shifts during major life transitions. They want more than coping skills; they want depth, discretion, and a sex-positive, trauma-informed therapist who understands both emotional and relational dynamics. Their goal is lasting regulation, authentic connection, and a grounded sense of self-trust.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
