I specialize in working with children and adolescents, as well as their caregivers. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients and utilizing methods that best fit each individual's needs. I have experience working with individuals dealing with presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief & loss, behavioral difficulties and trauma. When working with children I utilize play therapy, an approach that allows children to communicate through their natural language of play. Underlying all techniques is the personal relationship built with clients. In addition to individual therapy, I provide therapy groups for parents using Child Parent Relationship Therapy.

I have practiced psychotherapy for the past ten years with a focus on children and families, perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, and
ADHD
.
Deciding to speak to a therapist is a step in the direction of health - mental, emotional, and sometimes physical. My clients usually come to me after they have tried all they can think of - I feel honored to be their next step and honor the steps they've already taken. Whether a client's concerns pertain to parenting or becoming a parent, perinatal mental health, life transitions,
ADHD
, or general mental health, I enjoy working together with my clients to determine the best next steps for them.

My practice focuses on helping children, adolescents, and young adults who are challenged by anxiety, depression, and self-esteem;
ADHD
and executive functioning; screen time and tech issues; Autism Spectrum Disorder and related concerns; sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse; co-dependency and other relationship issues; and anger management.
I have seen time and time again the transformative impact of therapy on people of all ages. It can restore us to a place of peace and comfort or help us reach new levels of growth and fulfillment. It can help move us beyond the moments we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or alone. Likewise, it can help our children move past their self-doubt, difficulty managing their emotions, or sense of being lost in life. In either case, I want you to know you are not alone, nor were you meant to face the challenges of life without help. I will do everything I can to help you and your family embrace life, overcome challenges, and create possibilities

I offer support to help children and families understand the unique characteristics of dyslexia,
ADHD
, and anxiety, how their brain works, and how it impacts their daily lives.
Hi! I’m glad you are here! I'm Rebecca and I am a child, adolescent, and family therapist. I enjoy helping children, teens, and families navigate the stresses of life. The teen years can be a time of uncertainty for both teens and their parents. Family dynamics shift as teens seek more autonomy. My goal is to support parents and teens by using a systemic approach that considers their past experiences as well as providing strategies for better communication leading to a more positive relationship.

I have a clinical focus in adult
ADHD
and ND-NT couples.
Hi, if you're like many of my clients, you're hoping to find a therapist who has worked with your kind of worries before, will listen without passing judgement and can offer a safe place to process as well as get some concrete tools to help you feel better. My clients often describe struggling with communication or compromise in relationships, hurting from a big loss, frustration with their kid's problems, feeling anxious, or having a hard time at work. Most of my clients want a therapist who is warm, authentic, can explain the "why" behind their "what" and is willing to engage, not just observe.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
