We all go through highs and lows in our lives. We have times that we know exactly what we want and where we want to be, and we have those moments that we have no idea what is going on with us. It can be difficult or confusing maneuvering through the thoughts, feelings, and actions that come at us in
life
.

Recently, after more than 22 years in private practice, I have decided to simplify my
life
. I no longer will be taking insurance. I will only accept self-pay clients at an hourly rate of $50. I work best with normal people who are having trouble negotiating the common difficulties of
life
. The type client who is most helped is the one who is willing to self-explore and try new thought and behavior patterns. My motto is "Be gentle with yourself" as you work toward personal growth and toward creating the best possible
life
for yourself and others. I love helping adolescents and adults find joy, productivity, and peace in
life
.

My career in the mental health field has provided me the opportunity and experience to work with people from all walks of
life
including law enforcement, education, forensic, inpatient & outpatient psychiatric, crisis or court involved, healthcare professionals & executives.
I meet with individuals using a variety of approaches. Work with clients is determined by the problem brought to the session, beginning where you find yourself-cognitively, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I generally work with a client's
life
story, to look for origins of beliefs and problems, and to find ways to reframe the story so that it is not so limiting. I am experienced in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, anger management, conflict resolution, addiction, career counseling and various other issues.

Life
is an intentional journey. This journey has sharp turns and pitfalls which affect people in diverse ways and there is not one answer to working through the difficulties
life
presents to us. By meeting you where you are and determining together where you want to go, we will travel the road together. One of my passions is providing counseling to those that have been falsely accused as well as their loved ones who have also been impacted. I cannot promise a particular result; nevertheless, I do pledge to be there for you on this journey with intent.

Life
can be a challenge. Visiting with me is not going to change your circumstances, but I believe I can help you change the way you experience them. I have often been told that I am a warm, compassionate and nonjudgmental guide that will walk with you through dark times and will cheer you along as you reach new levels of freedom and hope. I do not view myself as an expert that can solve your problems, but rather as one who can sit with you while you wrestle with your deepest fears, hurts and pain and find the answers for yourself.

Working together, we can conquer the perfectionist mindset that holds you back from feeling happy in
life
without compromising your successes.
Now accepting new clients! Are you a high achieving teen or young adult that struggles with perfectionism? You feel high stress and anxiety because the goals you set for yourself seem impossible to reach at times. The fear of failure and the self-critic in your mind drive your every move, and sometimes make following your dreams seem impossible. You often feel like you are never good enough and fear that you will disappoint yourself or others. Looking back, it’s possible that you have always felt this way and are tired of feeling dissatisfied with your efforts.

It is my hope to offer a space for your own observation of your
life
and discover how you'd like to expand and change and grow.
Accepting new clients! The therapeutic process is a healing process. Healing takes place both internally and within the context of relationship. We constantly shift and change day to day, week to week, year to year. Changes can be going from sleeping to waking, from changing our routines, or outdated patterning. Changes can come in the form of a new baby, a new marriage, a new job; and they can also be divorce, death, health issues, or a sudden move. Inherent in every change is a level of questioning, worry, and concern either internal or external. I do believe change is a wonderfully empowering catalyst to growth and healing.

“I am trying so hard to stay afloat, so why does it feel like I’m still sinking?” Sometimes, we grow complacent and begin to feel lost in our journey of
life
. We forget to live in the moment and lose sight of what brings us joy. We begin to feel lonely and distant in the world despite knowing we have the support of friends and family. If this resonates with you, let’s take that first step and forge together the path towards your self-discovery expedition because you don’t have to figure everything out alone.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
