I believe counseling is a unique opportunity to assist individuals by meeting them where they are in life's journey. It is essential to work with individuals and families from a strengths-based approach and in ways that best meet their needs. Counseling is a collaborative process between the counselor and the client, designed to help individuals identify goals and solutions to problems that disrupt their lives.

Thank you for considering me as a part of your journey towards healing. I understand choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. Often times, unresolved mental health issues lead to isolation. You are not alone. Individuals often experience unpleasant symptoms associated with adverse life events that often lead to mental health issues. Often times, many mood disorders and trauma-related symptoms are often linked in some way to traumatic life events, generational trauma, or hereditary factors. I offer the expertise to help you connect with your inner and external strengths to foster healing, resilience, and hope.

Beyond that, my tools are cognitive-behavioral in nature, with a heavy emphasis on mindfulness skills and self-compassion.
I work with autistic and ADHD clients from a neurodiversity perspective. I have worked with a wide and inclusive range of clients on issues such as trauma, depression, bipolar, substance use, stress and anxiety, gender and sexual identity, and many others. My approach is client-centered, which means that I believe that the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client is the most important aspect of therapy.

I utilize a mind-body approach and specialize in mindfulness, focused attention techniques, and hypnosis, which are known to be very effective for stress-management, sleep difficulties and emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression.
With individuals, I focus on how stress and emotional reactivity manifest as bodily symptoms such as disordered sleep, attention deficits, mood/anxiety disorders, or relationship difficulties. In couples therapy, I utilize concepts of differentiation and comfort/growth cycle, and teach partners to learn to manage their own reactivity and anxieties.

As a registered yoga teacher I often bring in tools such as breathwork, movement, and mindfulness for nervous system regulation.
The therapeutic process is a healing process. Healing takes place both internally and within the context of relationship. We constantly shift and change day to day, week to week, year to year. Changes can be going from sleeping to waking, from changing our routines, or outdated patterning. Changes can come in the form of a new baby, a new marriage, a new job; and they can also be divorce, death, health issues, or a sudden move. Inherent in every change is a level of questioning, worry, and concern either internal or external. I do believe change is a wonderfully empowering catalyst to growth and healing.

So often we suffer traumas and emotional struggles, feeling like no one will understand or not knowing where to turn. This is one of the reasons I chose to become a counselor. My role in my client's lives is to provide a different outlook and to evaluate possible solutions. I provide my clients with a safe and supportive environment, free of judgement or criticism, where meeting their goals is top priority. I help my clients recognize their choices, as well as the means to get there, and together we will work towards achieving those desired goals.

Are you a teen or young adult struggling with high stress and anxiety because the expectations for yourself or from others seem hard to reach at times? The fear of failure and the self-criticism in your mind drive your every move and sometimes make following your dreams seem impossible. You often feel like you are never good enough and fear that you will disappoint yourself or others. Looking back, you may have always felt this way and are tired of feeling dissatisfied with your efforts.

You deserve a life that’s worth living even during the strife and struggle so that begs the question, how might I be of help to you? You deserve to have support and someone to walk through life challenges with and I would love to be that person for you! Therapy should be, and is, a space where together we can curate the change that you want to see in your own life. Even if you are unsure of what that solution looks like, I believe we can find it together. I know that calling a therapist can be intimidating but I hope you will take just a moment to call and see how I can help you.

In particular, Pitts has become very familiar with Mindfulness Meditation and incorporates that practice into his work with clients.
I've become very familiar with the impact that trauma has on the life of an individual, and even their family. Because trauma may be limiting to your happiness and growth, it is time to eliminate the trauma responses from your life. BrainSpotting Process does that very well. Ask how it can help you.
