Hey y’all! I’m glad you’re here. If parenting feels harder than it should… or your child is struggling and you’re not sure what to do next… you’re in the right place. I work with kids, teens, and parents to understand what’s really going on beneath behavior, especially when big emotions, anxiety, or disconnection take over. I’m a bit of a neurobiology nerd, so we’ll look at how the brain and nervous system are driving the patterns you’re seeing. When that starts to make sense, things begin to shift in a way that actually lasts.

You may be reading this because you feel like you have tried everything to feel better, but nothing seems to work. You find yourself feeling overwhelmed by life in general, and you have been fighting with family, friends, or the person you love more than usual. Or you might find yourself feeling anxious lately, and you aren't sure why. In general, you are ready to feel better and enjoy the people around you.

I've historically worked with clients with substance use disorders, which led me to support those struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, personality disorders, maladaptive behaviors, and coping skills.
Some struggles aren’t solved with quick fixes; they need understanding, insight, and support. Feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, emotionally, relationally, or in how you cope, can be exhausting. You may be navigating substance use, intense emotions, identity questions, or relationship challenges. You’re not looking for quick fixes; you want real understanding and meaningful change. You want a space to be honest, feel seen, and start building a life that feels authentic and sustainable.

As a 20+ year educator and counselor, I've seen that one step at a time movement creates positive change. Through acceptance, expressive activities, a solution-focused approach and the guidance of the trauma-focused therapy: ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), clients will be met with compassion, hope, affirmation and a belief that they can MOVE. Move Counseling is now accepting referrals and has immediate appointment availability for children, adolescents and emerging adults.

Counseling should be safe and helpful in practical ways. It should be as brief as possible to meet a person's current need, while at the same time of sufficient duration to provide stabilization. I believe it should provide real-world help for navigating the challenging transitions of life that often interfere with progress toward our desired objectives and design potential. I believe it is critical to cultivate the capacity to live fully and mindfully in the here-and-now to chart a path to a satisfying future.

The therapeutic process is a healing process. Healing takes place both internally and within the context of relationship. We constantly shift and change day to day, week to week, year to year. Changes can be going from sleeping to waking, from changing our routines, or outdated patterning. Changes can come in the form of a new baby, a new marriage, a new job; and they can also be divorce, death, health issues, or a sudden move. Inherent in every change is a level of questioning, worry, and concern either internal or external. I do believe change is a wonderfully empowering catalyst to growth and healing.
