When life feels heavy and unsteady, having a place to process and reconnect with yourself can make a meaningful difference. I work with people who are adjusting to difficult life changes, looking for better coping strategies, processing stressful events, and improving their relationships with self and others. I aim to make authentic connections with my clients and encourage them to reflect on how day-to-day challenges show up during session.

I have a passion for assisting others on their healing journey. Underneath all the layers of fear and suffering, a true warrior is present. I work with preteens (ages 10 years and up), teens, and adults who have experienced scary, difficult, traumatic, and life-altering events. I also work with individuals who are struggling with self-acceptance, self-worth, maneuvering life’s changes, depression, and anxiety. I enjoy providing support for individuals as they explore their spirituality and beliefs. I work with clients from all spiritual and religious backgrounds, maintaining a neutral stance throughout the process.

The therapy relationship is the single biggest predictor of how therapy actually goes. More than method, more than credentials. That is why my first priority is being real with you, consistent, and transparent. I work with teens and adults in Texas on anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship stuff, identity and self-esteem, bipolar disorder, and burnout. My practice is queer-empowering and feminist.

Hello and welcome! My name is Cat and I work with adults and teens who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, out of control, emotionally dysregulated and unfulfilled. I love working with people who have always felt different and have struggled to find meaning, purpose, and belonging in life. My philosophy as an existential therapist is that emotional distress can stem from a mismatch between the life we are currently living and the life we really want for ourselves. I believe the best place for healing is the place where you feel true alignment with your values, goals, identity, relationships, and desires. Let me help you get there.

Another day underway... Went to bed exhausted, woke up the same way. Spent an hour last night staring at the ceiling…drift off and bam, time to wake up. Living the dream...not. More like another frickin' long day...spent 20 minutes (you didn't have) searching for your keys. Driving to work, everyone's out to piss you off with their driving. Cut off twice, honked at, and the person tapping their brakes 100 times pushed you over the edge. 15-hour work shifts draining what little energy you have. Mind's all over the place. Overwhelmed and stuck. On your 4th argument of the week with your partner, it’s only Wednesday.

When do you have time for you? Saturday appointments available. You’re someone who thinks deeply, notices everything, and holds it all together for everyone else...often feeling overstimulated or exhausted. Inside, you may feel worn down from managing so much. You want grounding, relief, and a place where you don’t have to explain your culture, wiring, or sensitivity....you can just be human. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep carrying it all by yourself.

Bisexual Therapists
What is bisexual-affirming therapy?
Bisexual-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client’s bisexual identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual’s orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of bisexual people. This support is especially important, as research shows that bisexual individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation compared to other groups. Bisexual-affirming therapy acknowledges that bisexual individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as invalidation, relationship challenges, and minority stress—that require specialized understanding and intervention. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for bisexual partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship. While not required, some clients prefer working with bisexual therapists who may bring personal insight to the therapeutic relationship. However, a non-bisexual therapist with strong training and a genuine commitment to affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who understands how identity impacts mental health and can create a space of trust and respect.

What can a bisexual therapist help with?
Bisexual-affirming therapists can provide support across a wide range of concerns relevant to bisexual individuals. Whether through personal or professional experience, they often have specialized knowledge in areas such as the coming out process, navigating stereotypes, and dealing with common stressors. Relationship support is another key area of focus, as bisexual clients may face unique challenge when dating or maintaining relationships across genders. Affirming therapists can also help clients build coping strategies for managing discrimination or stigma. Additionally, many bisexual-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organizations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection. It's important to note that therapists provide can talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

How do I find a bisexual therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding bisexual-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialize in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit. During initial consultations or early sessions, ask potential therapists about their specific training in bisexual-affirming care, their experience with LGBTQ+ clients, and their therapeutic approach to identity-related concerns. An effective bisexual-affirming therapist will demonstrate genuine understanding of bisexual experiences, including awareness of the unique challenges facing bisexual individuals. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
