One of the most painful things in life is to feel as though no one understands you or what you've been through. Perhaps you've experienced trauma, cannot stay joyful, or struggle to navigate everyday life. If so, you are definitely not alone. Perhaps your marriage is on the brink, you can't stop thinking about the pain, or you've been hurt by a religious leader. The good news is, there is hope, joy, and purpose for everyone in their unique circumstances. No matter our story, we all need an advocate to understand us and motivate us to be who God has called us to be.

We all just want to feel comfortable in our own skin. We want to live our lives feeling inspired, happy, and purposeful. Somewhere along the way we may have sought out external things to achieve this goal: drugs, alcohol, relationships, jobs, social circles, money, status, etc. These things work for a little while…until they don’t. We finally get to a place where we realize we need help turning inward. We become willing to examine our trauma and core wounds and heal from what is in the way of us emerging into our fullest selves. This is where transformation begins.

Welcome to a space where growth, healing, and self-discovery are at the center of the work. I specialize in supporting men and teens who want to feel more grounded, connected, and purposeful — both within themselves and in their relationships with others. Many of the men I work with come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of disconnection, frustration, or uncertainty. They might struggle with identity, self-worth, communication, or the weight of always being expected to "have it together." Others are navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, or past experiences that never fully healed.

Therapy is for everyone—because everyone deserves a space to be heard, understood, and supported. I believe that you don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes, talking to someone outside your daily life can provide the clarity and fresh perspectives you need during tough times. My mission is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. I understand that no two individuals are the same, and I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy to meet your unique needs.

Therapy can feel weird at first—like showing up to the gym without knowing the machines—and that’s normal. We’ll go at your pace, with no forced oversharing, and you get credit for walking through the (virtual) door. I’m a licensed professional counselor with years of experience supporting people with anxiety, OCD, depression, and healing from emotional or physical abuse. I enjoy working with clients navigating spiritual questions or wounds and creatives, including artists, musicians, and writers. I also work with clients experiencing stress and emotional strain shaped by polarized social and political environments in this moment.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
