This is a neurodivergent affirming and trauma informed care space that is culturally respectful. Even the most well meaning provider of services can leave a person feeling misunderstood. Being in this space you will be both heard and seen by a provider who is also neurodivergent. -Telehealth Only-

My counseling style is compassionate and direct. I use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness therapies to help resolve negative thoughts and emotions and work towards more realistic and positive self-assessment. It takes a great deal of courage to ask for help and I honor you for taking the first step! Many of us struggle silently with emotional pain, physical discomfort and racing thoughts related to anxiety, or lack of motivation due to depression. I believe everyone has the potential to learn new skills to manage symptoms, improve communication, self-motivate, and regain a sense of self-control.

You are the expert on your own life—I’m here to walk alongside you. Therapy can be challenging. It asks us to slow down, turn toward difficult emotions, and gently confront patterns that no longer serve us. You don’t have to do that work alone. My goal is to offer a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to show up as your authentic self. My work is integrative and trauma-informed, shaped around you—because healing is not one-size-fits-all.

Change is what human development is all about-enormous, fantastic change. The most influential approaches to psychotherapy is psychoanalyisis and Client-centered therapy. Where problems arise from unhealthy interactions with others and could be alleviated in private between therapist and client. Together we can increase your ability to think, feel and learn new coping skills, holistically. Side effects from pharmaceutical drugs sometimes are worse than the actual symptoms of anxiety and depression. Science has proven health benefits of yoga, qigong, laughter, tapping, herbal remedies and meditation.

You are a woman juggling many roles while trying not to lose yourself in the process. You may be navigating motherhood, aging, injury, career demands, or changing seasons of life while still wanting to stay active and strong. You feel pressure to perform, guilt for prioritizing yourself, and frustration when comparison or burnout takes over. You want support that understands the realities women face, including the mental and emotional weight that comes with caring for others while trying to care for yourself.

I graduated from Walden University, where I received a Master’s in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I use an existential approach to obstacles in life, but believe therapy should be shaped and molded to the needs of my clients. I help individuals who have experienced disturbing life events find their inner peace by providing techniques and tools to overcome their trauma to live rewarding lives. I also help women and those within the LGBTQ+ community who struggle with their self-esteem find their voice through a non-judgmental environment to help empower them to reach their full and maximum potential.

I work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety or trauma related to their relationships or family history. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand. I do this by helping you identify the areas of your life that need some work through insight, identifying patterns that are no longer working even if they did a wonderful job of helping you survive in the past, reworking emotional responses that no longer align with your current values or just being there supporting you as you process difficult emotions.

My virtual space is for folks experiencing the pain and discomfort of feeling 'othered' -feeling that internal chaos that results from being the proverbial square peg being shoved in a round hole. Maybe you are lacking community and authentic connections because showing up as your authentic, "weird" self hasn't felt like an option- until now. I can help you define your truest self so you can create the connections you deserve. I’ve worked to create the kind of non-judgmental therapy space where I’d want to find myself as a client— one where you can ugly cry & make dark-humored jokes within the same 50-minute session.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
