Has caregiving become your prominent role? Are you part of the sandwich generation? Are you squeezed between caring for a child/grandchild and aging parents, relatives, siblings, or friends? Middle-aged women are increasingly faced with caring for multiple generations within a family system. Nearly half of middle-aged Americans are currently experiencing this “sandwiched” effect, including the anxiety and grief that goes along with it.

My passion is working with family members of those struggling with addiction. Whether you are a spouse, child or parent, your life has been deeply impacted by your family member's addictive disease. As loved ones, we have often focused on our sick family member so long that we have lost ourselves. It takes support, education and courage to find balance. I have found that when loved ones get help for themselves, their family member often gets healthier. I also have deep compassion for parents, particularly d mothers, who are working to rebuild relationships with their children after battling their own addiction.

I use Internal Family Systems therapy in individual and couples sessions.
Whether it's challenging life transitions, a traumatic experience or lifelong harmful beliefs and behaviors that are prompting you to seek therapy, you're one step closer to your personal journey of growth and healing. Fear of change is natural, but can prevent us from letting go of beliefs, behaviors, and ways of being that are no longer beneficial to us. I work with individuals, adolescents and couples using complimentary approaches personalized to your specific needs in a compassionate and safe space. I have experience working with addiction, relationship issues, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, emotional abuse and trauma.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems ( IFS).
My passion is helping anxious teens and young adults learn to trust themselves, discover their own voice, and build a life that feels true to who they are- not who they think they should be. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and tailored to what you need most each session. We may explore relationship patterns, attachment, family experiences, nervous system regulation, or the emotions underneath what's keeping you stuck. Together, we'll build on your strengths, practice self-compassion, and create space for growth at a pace that feels right.

I consider myself privileged, if not honored, to walk through the life journeys of my clients. I work in a collaborative and facilitative manner with those struggling in relationships, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or work/family issues to name a few. Working with couples and post-menopausal women and their individual struggles in their transitions is also something I enjoy. I believe therapy should be client-centered, goal oriented and short term in nature.

You’re probably looking at your 50th therapist profile right now, realizing we can all sound a little similar. Trying to figure out who might actually understand you while you’re already feeling overwhelmed can be exhausting. Many people who come to EBC feel stuck in their heads, worn down by anxiety, or caught in patterns around food and body image that keep repeating. You may be tired of dieting, binge eating, or constantly thinking about your body. What you’re really looking for is a place where you can feel understood and begin building a life that feels more manageable and aligned with what matters to you.

My ideal client is a man who looks like he has it all together—career, relationship, responsibilities—but feels disconnected, burnt out, or stuck in patterns he can’t name. He wants clarity, better communication, and tools to manage stress and relationships without losing himself in the process. He’s tired of just coping—he wants to take action and feel like himself again.

I use IFS, mindfulness, and mind-body approaches, and can include spirituality or faith if it’s meaningful to you.
On the outside, you’re holding it together. On the inside… it’s a different story. Maybe anxiety is always humming in the background. Maybe you keep ending up in the same relationship patterns. Or you’re in a life transition and thought you’d be handling it better than this. I work with thoughtful, capable adults who are tired of just pushing through and want to understand what’s really going on inside—so things can actually start to shift. I offer telehealth therapy across Texas, with in-person sessions in Cedar Park (Austin area) coming soon.

I draw from CBT, ACT, IFS, and mindfulness-based approaches, and I tailor them to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula.
You've spent your life being the capable one. High expectations, whether they came from yourself, your family, or your job, taught you to push through and take care of everyone else. And those strategies worked, sometimes for years, until they didn't. Until they couldn't anymore. Now you're running on empty, saying yes when you mean no, and realizing that what carried you this far may not be able to take you where you want to go. Whether you're a driven professional, a depleted parent, or the parent of a high-achieving teen struggling under pressure, you can learn a new way of moving through life, one that doesn't cost you yourself.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
