You’re doing your best, but parenting feels overwhelming, your child is struggling, or you’re stretched thin trying to meet everyone’s needs but your own. Maybe you’re noticing big feelings, behavior challenges, or grief in your child, or maybe it’s your own anxiety, resentment, or burnout that brings you here. Whether you’re seeking support for your child, yourself, or your family system, therapy can offer relief, clarity, and direction. You want someone grounded, warm, and practical who can help. I’d love to support you.

You love your family, but lately, the people who matter most are getting the version of you you never meant to become. Couples and parents often arrive here caught in the same arguments, the same shutdowns, the same guilt after another hard night. Beneath those moments are old loyalties, childhood wounds, and patterns that once protected you but now shape your home. Together, we slow the cycle, make sense of what drives it, and help you choose a steadier way to love, lead, repair, and build the family story you want your children to inherit. Your past can shape you, not rule your home.

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results." ADDICTION & DEPENDENCY result from an unconscious refusal to move through the pain of withdrawal (from a chemical, thought-process, behavior, other person, etc.). The behavior gets repeated, accompanied by cycles of disappointment, shame, GRIEF, frustration and isolation. Having experienced this same cycle (more than once) I bring years of education, training, personal recovery experiences and compassion to our therapeutic relationship. My PERSONAL therapeutic process is on-going. I would be honored to help you in yours. EASY? Nope. WORTH IT? Yes!

My practice embraces an all-encompassing approach toward making changes in multiple areas of your life based on Albert Ellis's theory of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Ellis believed that if you change your thinking, you can change your life. I believe it is important to explore multiple areas of your life and the beliefs you act upon in order to discover opportunities where you can implement empowering changes. I practice from a Christian perspective but welcome clients from any faith. I want my clients to feel empowered, encouraged and educated during the counseling process.

I consider myself privileged, if not honored, to walk through the life journeys of my clients. I work in a collaborative and facilitative manner with those struggling in relationships, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or work/family issues to name a few. Working with couples and post-menopausal women and their individual struggles in their transitions is also something I enjoy. I believe therapy should be client-centered, goal oriented and short term in nature.

What if therapy could help you be less reactive, feel more empowered, and experience more hopeful interactions in your relationship? What if you could stay centered and speak for what you want and need, regardless of another person’s reaction? As a family therapist specializing in Internal Family Systems, or IFS, I seek to help individuals, couples, and families to explore, hear, and heal all the important, and often unrecognized, parts of themselves which influence every reaction and every choice. This inward focus removes the dependency on another person to achieve progress, opening up new possibilities for growth and change.

My ideal client is a man who looks like he has it all together—career, relationship, responsibilities—but feels disconnected, burnt out, or stuck in patterns he can’t name. He wants clarity, better communication, and tools to manage stress and relationships without losing himself in the process. He’s tired of just coping—he wants to take action and feel like himself again.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
