Hi there and welcome! If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, depressed, or unsure about what’s next, you’re not alone—and there’s nothing “wrong” with you for feeling this way. A lot of people I work with are navigating big transitions, relationship stress, loneliness, anxiety, burnout, or that quiet sense of pressure to have life figured out by now. It can be exhausting to carry all of that on your own. I hope to be there to support you so you can share your burdens in a space full of grace, respect, and compassion.

You don’t have to love every moment of motherhood to be a good mom — and you don’t have to navigate anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or life transitions alone. I primarily work with women and mothers, including those navigating pregnancy and postpartum, who are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of who they’re becoming in this season of life. Many of my clients are caring, capable people who are used to holding everything together while quietly struggling inside.

As a therapist, I see myself as a guide someone who walks alongside you as you deepen self-understanding, build self-acceptance, and reconnect with the strengths you already have. My goal is to help you create a more balanced, meaningful, and joyful life. I believe many of our inner resources are already within us; therapy simply offers the space to uncover them. In a safe and supportive environment, we slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. As you gain awareness of the factors influencing your challenges, you can make intentional changes, align with your values, and move forward with greater clarity.

I work with moms on the things that weigh most: trauma from past births or difficult experiences, grief from losses big or small, and anxiety or depression that makes everyday life feel overwhelming.
Does this sound familiar? Motherhood isn't what you expected? You feel constantly overwhelmed. You keep thinking, "It shouldn't be this hard." You worry that something bad will happen if you're not constantly alert. Your mind never stops - it's a constant loop of planning, worrying, and managing everyone else's needs. You feel emotionally disconnected from your partner. Crying for no reason. You love your kids, but sometimes you just want to run away for a day - or a week - and not be touched or needed by anyone. You experienced a traumatic birth that you can't get past. The NICU looms large. You are holding it together. Barely.

If you are dealing with a life transition, grief & loss, or just struggling, I can help.
In addition to being a therapist, I am clergy in the United Methodist Church. I believe faith should be a source of healing not harm, and can be integrated into a holistic healing plan. If you've experienced religious trauma, I can help you address the pain and rebuild your faith. I also help clergy as you navigate the challenges of ministry, family & life.

It would be my honor to be your companion on the journey of discovering what would be your best life. Often what brings people to therapy is a problem they have been coping with for a long time and they want to bring new ideas to that issue or problem. Uncomfortable emotions like anxiety, anger and sadness usually get our attention to look deeper into the issues of our lives. Processing these issues in therapy can ease the discomfort and lead to a more fulfilled life as you discover what is most important to you.

Whether addressing grief, behavioral issues, guilt/shame, trauma, or life satisfaction, I am passionate about the process of beneficial transformation that therapy can offer.
With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, I am deeply passionate about helping adults and adolescents navigate life’s challenges and overcome seemingly impossible odds. I became a therapist because I know first hand the benefits of counseling...I have sat where you will sit having been a client myself! There is enormous benefit in unloading the emotions, hurts and traumas that we ignore and bury within ourselves. Avoiding the hard stuff can only last so long, eventually we have to face our burdens and walk through them; therapy gives you the chance to do just that, my role is to help you walk through that journey.

I work with clients struggling with grief, trauma and loss.
I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in painful cycles and are ready to do the deeper, consistent work needed to create meaningful and lasting change. Many are navigating anxiety, conflict, life transitions, or longing for deeper connection and understanding. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT), Gottman and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients slow down patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical tools for regulation and communication. Together, we create a safe space to strengthen bonds, increase resilience, and move toward more secure, fulfilling relationships.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate concerns with self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, and relational concerns.
As part of my work with clients, I partner with my two dogs, Merry and Pippin, to offer Animal-Assisted Counseling (AAC), having completed training through Texas State’s AAC Academy. A therapy animal's presence can foster a greater sense of safety and comfort, helping clients feel more at ease as they explore difficult emotions and experiences.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
