Therapists take on a number of different roles in their work. I predominately view my role as guide. One of the goals of this practice is to help clients discover a deeper sense of self and acceptance. Another intention of this practice practice is to help clients build and maintain the necessary tools they already have existing within themselves, and lead clients to new discoveries of living life in a more balanced and enjoyable way.

I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who are navigating life transitions, identity questions, neurodivergence, trauma, grief, and chronic pain.
If you feel like the ground beneath your feet is shifting, and you’re looking for someone with not just the clinical skills but the lived experience to support you – welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Kristina, a multi-cultural, queer, neurodivergent and trauma-sensitive psychotherapist who’s been a life-long immigrant and "self-reinventor", both by necessity and choice. As a therapist, I’m here to help you re-connect with and trust your knowing - something trauma and conditioning may cut us off from, but can't destroy. I'll draw from Neurobiology, Attachment, Parts Work and Somatics, and look to your nervous system to set the pace.

Trauma wraps itself around us, binding our bodies, our relationships, the way we see the world. It teaches us to survive but often at the cost of feeling truly alive. I know what it means to carry that weight—I’ve felt it too. But I’ve also felt the unbinding, the breath of freedom and joy that healing brings. It’s not simple or clean—it’s raw, messy, beautiful work. Maybe you feel stuck, circling the same patterns, carrying burdens too heavy to name. Maybe your walls feel safe but keep you from connection. Together, we’ll peel back the layers, rediscover your spark, and rebuild a life that feels like home. Let’s begin.

I specialize in complex trauma and attachment wounds, and support individuals through life transitions, grief, medical trauma, chronic illness, and OCD.
Authenticity and humor are big parts of who I am and what I bring to counseling. By freeing clients from experiences that keep them stuck in the past, I empower them to thrive in their lives and release behaviors that no longer serve them. I help clients cultivate self-compassion and learn how to actually feel their emotions rather than intellectualize them.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and chronic pain in teens to older adults.
You find yourself wanting to stay busy because slowing down makes you think too much about everything. You notice guilt or shame come up when you want to say no to someone. These days, yelling or slamming doors is the only thing that helps when that irritable or angry feeling takes over your body. You wish you could find other ways to deal but it seems like nothing is helping and you don't know what to do.

I'm Miranda Jane, a late identified AuDHDer and I believe you when you tell me what you're going through! So often we are met with skepticism, confusion, or advice to "try harder" from well-meaning people who just don't get it. I've learned to stop trying to meet others' expectations, and instead to build a life that fits my unique needs and limits.

Feelings and emotions are true indicators to help guide you to what you want more of in life. We can focus and become more aware of choices and positive options, and ultimately remove self-limiting beliefs. We can learn to make decisions with more clarity and awareness, leading you to a more joyful and fuller life.

Chronic Pain Therapists

How does chronic pain therapy work?

Engaging with a psychotherapist to help treat chronic pain does not mean that one’s pain is all in their head. Therapy for chronic-pain patients has been shown to benefit both the mind and the body, targeting physical symptoms and increasing daily functioning. In other words, for many, addressing their emotional health through therapy affects their physical health. A therapist can help a client challenge unhelpful thoughts about pain and develop new ways to respond to it, such as distraction or calming breathing techniques. Studies have found that therapy can be as effective as surgery for certain cases of chronic pain and many doctors recommend trying psychotherapy in advance of considering invasive surgery.

What are the most effective treatment options for chronic pain?

Stress, anxiety, depression, catastrophizing, ruminating, lack of activity, and social withdrawal all make chronic pain worse. Addressing these issues, research shows, can help people gain control over their pain symptoms. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, and mindfulness-based stress reduction, along with greater pain-management education, have been found to help people reduce fear and disability.

Are there new treatments for chronic pain?

Many cases of chronic pain, particularly those involving back pain, remain medically unexplained. But there is evidence that changes in the brain or nervous system are caused by previous physical ailments such as tissue damage; in such cases, the brain may continue to send out pain signals despite the physical cause having healed. To aid patients under these circumstances, a recently developed treatment known as pain reprocessing therapy (PRT) is designed to help the brain “unlearn” this response. A PRT practitioner helps individuals to reduce the “threat value” of their ongoing pain signals until they can reappraise them as less threatening and fear-inducing. They also help an individual to develop new emotional regulation skills.

How long does therapy for chronic pain take?

There is no set timeline for recovery from chronic pain, especially as there may be a range of physical and psychological causes for any individual’s discomfort, but most patients should expect to see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions. Studies of pain reprocessing therapy found that many individuals’ experience of pain lessened in eight sessions over four weeks.
