When emotional pain takes over, it can feel like life is unraveling. Everyday stress, strained relationships, and struggles with self-worth can become overwhelming. You may be grappling with feelings of anxiety, depression, or the lasting impact of trauma. You may want to regain control, find peace, and rebuild your life, but the path to healing can feel unclear and daunting.

Does your mind understand what happened to you but your body doesn’t quite feel settled? Or maybe you can’t make sense of any of it yet. It’s hard carrying around thoughts and feelings in the mind and body from the past; the past feels so much alive in the present as you walk through life. That is how unresolved trauma and emotions often feel. It’s important to help the whole person (body, mind, and emotions) heal from past wounds through a supportive and integrative therapeutic approach.

Are relationship dynamics, family tension, or the patterns you keep repeating leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected from who you truly are? Whether the struggle is personal, between partners, or felt across the whole family, it rarely exists in isolation — and neither should the solution. You don't have to untangle it alone, and you don't have to choose between getting help as an individual or getting help together. In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples and family therapy, helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and become more of who you truly are.

Using CBT, IFS, DBT and mindfulness we will build coping strategies together to address feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and caretaker burnout.
If you are a parent or caretaker who just received an ADHD or Autism diagnosis for your child and is trying to hold it all together, this is for you. You may be researching therapies, learning new acronyms, advocating at school, and somewhere in the middle of that, you have not been able to take care of yourself. You want to feel supported and less alone in this journey. You want tools, not just sympathy. You are a parent full of love for a child the world does not always make space for. You want to show up for your child. All without burning out in the process.

When I sense they are working clients who are passionate about getting into the deeper details: to learn that they are truly and genuinely worthy of love and are worth great value. I feel so excited to relate with them, and share stories, to understand their story.

My approach is an integration of trauma-informed modalities—CBT, CPT, and IFS—focused on tactical decompression.
You are the person everyone else relies on. You’re at the summit where the air is thin, and while the view is great, the pressure is constant. You’ve mastered the climb, but the internal "psi" is becoming unsustainable. The Challenge: High-altitude stress and the isolation of being "unshockable." You don't need a standard clinic; you need a decompressor. The Approach: I specialize in "Airing Down"—releasing internal pressure to navigate rugged terrain without breaking. With 20 years in high-intensity forensic settings, I offer a direct, discrete partnership for those who carry the weight of being the person with all the answers.

I believe a strong therapeutic relationship in the counseling room is the beginning for clients who are wanting to explore living their best life. My passion for working with clients stems from my own past life experiences. I am a “seasoned person” who believes all people deserve to be heard. My goal is to create a supportive and safe space where clients feel honored and free to explore the parts of themselves.

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
