I offer therapy in person in Keller Texas or online throughout Texas.
Has something happened to you that you can barely tell yourself, let alone anyone else? Do you feel haunted by the past and oscillate between agitation and hypervigilance to exhaustion and depression? You might be suffering from the effects of trauma. Trauma hijacks the mind, the self and the present by keeping us frozen in the past. The good news is trauma doesn't have to get the last word. We can heal our traumatized brains and nervous systems by working with them instead of against them.

I currently accept new clients for in-person appointments only, and look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
When your life feels out of balance or your relationships aren't what what you’d like them to be, counseling can help. I work with adult clients to identify what works in their lives, and what contributes to their challenges. Through counseling, you can learn healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking, coping, and relating to others. You can develop resiliency and the confidence that you absolutely have what it takes to change what matters most to you, and you can explore the possibilities of what your life can become.

I see clients ages 3 to adult in-person at our Keller office.
Is your child struggling with big feelings, anxiety, or frustration? It can be hard to know how to help when they feel overwhelmed, have trouble with friends, or struggle in school. If they feel misunderstood, have a hard time talking about their feelings, or are going through a big change, therapy can give them a safe place to feel heard and supported. I help kids, teens, and adults through life’s ups and downs. I use play therapy to help kids express emotions while helping guide parents along the way. I also support adults dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life changes.

I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions, providing flexible and accessible care for clients across Texas.
You’ve tried everything to make this toxic relationship work - tips from all of the podcasts, self-help books, and Psychology Today articles you could find. Nothing is working. You put on a happy face for the sake of everyone else. You don’t want to make them uncomfortable, so you stuff your emotions, sweep them under the rug, and bottle up your pain. It hurts so much to hold it in that you’re worried that you're going to snap - burst out in tears at work or get angry and yell something that you’ll regret later.

Do you feel like everyone else got the "life handbook" except you? Feeling disconnected or unable to express yourself effectively can be frustrating and anxiety-provoking. For over 20 years, I have worked with autistic individuals and their families, helping them address social difficulties, relationship issues, anxiety and depression, and the challenge of thriving in a world that doesn't understand neurodivergence. By working with autism instead of always having to mask it, you can develop effective coping skills to deal with the challenges of life on the spectrum and be the uniquely wonderful person you were created to be!

Most of the people I work with feel stuck, you can explain what’s happening and know what’s true in you head, but your body still feels anxious, heavy, or disconnected. That’s where EMDR comes in. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in nearly every session because it helps the brain finally process what didn’t fully “file away,” so those old feelings stop showing up as overthinking, reactivity, or self-doubt. EMDR isn’t just for trauma, it’s for anyone ready to stop looping in old patterns and feel calmer, lighter, and more connected to themselves. I’m EMDR Certified and have been using it for nearly 5 years.

With me, you can choose in-person or telehealth (video session).
Summer is here, and it is a great time do some inner self growth work or gain some extra support in a season that really needs it. Some looking inward toward your emotional and relational life might be the thing that brings all the concepts you've been working on together. It is time to tackle those panic attacks that won't go away, that existential crisis: "why AM I here?", through that break up, or tense family relationship that just seems to stay stuck. Whether you are a student off for summer or mom who is freshly postpartum or in the thick of parenting concerns, I may be the counselor for you.

I offer weekend therapy sessions in person or online via video.
Through the lifespan, we experience change and difficulty that require us to grow and work within the healing process. Although post traumatic growth is non-linear, the support of a Licenced Professional Counselor can help through this process. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples, and have an interest in supporting the military community. As the spouse of a veteran, I understand the unique challenges that military personnel and their families face. I also specialize in working with adolescents and young adults and have worked in secondary education for over 25 years.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
