Your past trauma by helping your brain make sense of it and releasing the negative cognitions attached to it.
You have this intense void inside of you and nothing can fulfil it. Your better half that was once a match made in heaven became your worst enemy. You feel like you are stuck in a Groundhog Day where somebody else has pressed repeat: shuffling kids from an activity to another, endless nights spent on job demands, exhausted has become your middle name. You have been trying so hard to cope: God knows how many self help books, meditation practices, yoga classes, self-medicating with alcohol, adult sites you have been trying! Yet nothing seems to work and you find yourself feeling stuck.

Using evidence-based interventions such as, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), etc
During these trying times, it is easy to experience feelings of despair, anxiety, and depression, which can be stressful and overwhelming. This can lead to frustration, unfinished projects, and unaccomplished life goals. I can work with you collaboratively in a warm, welcoming, and safe therapeutic environment to help you achieve personal growth, balance in body, mind and spirit and help you reach your desired life goals.

You go through your day on autopilot doing the things you think you “should, supposed to, and ought to” be doing. You check most of the boxes, but you still feel hollow inside. You feel very little joy. You can’t sleep. You feel like you’re failing as a parent. You can’t remember what it felt like to not be anxious. Every day seems like a mini-war that nobody else knows about. It’s exhausting. Something is missing. You look for escape but it's not working. You know it and others are starting to notice too. Imagine starting your day feeling energized, actually liking who you see in the mirror.

Utilizing the most advanced clinical methods, including EMDR, I treat people who are experiencing anxiety, PTSD, trauma, depression, substance abuse, and issues around relationships.
As humans, we’re not always comfortable expressing our needs, owning our issues, or admitting that we have a problem. What you’re experiencing is what countless other individuals are facing as well. I know this because I see them in my office every day. Their stories are all unique; however, they share more in common than they know: burnout, shame, stress, guilt, fear and anger. Each of these has the potential to create permanent damage. In the past, you may have waited until your life was too big, too messy, or too complicated to manage before seeking help. In the meantime, your problems didn’t solve themselves.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
