You're the one people call when things fall apart. You answer, you handle it, and somewhere in there you stopped noticing how tired you are. From the outside the job is fine, the family is fine, you're fine. But sleep is thin, patience is thinner, and there's a low static that never fully turns off. Most of the adults I work with across Texas don't arrive in crisis. They arrive worn down, a little embarrassed to be here, and privately certain they should be able to fix this alone. That belief is usually the thing holding it in place. Anxiety, depression, and burnout don't answer to willpower. They answer to better tools.

Let's face it: We have ALL experienced some type of negative situation in our lives. Whether it is divorce, death, or other traumatic experiences, you do not have to deal with these challenges alone. Maybe you are having issues in your job or relationships? Perhaps you are having a hard time functioning from day to day or experiencing behavioral issues in school? Regardless of the circumstances, my goal is to walk with you through these difficult times and assist you with discovering healthy coping skills and maintaining a positive lifestyle.

My approach to therapy centers on the belief that people are capable of profound change when given the right support. I believe it important to provide a judgment-free space where people are seen as a whole person rather than their presenting concern. I work with individuals and families of all ages, respecting each person’s unique story as we process and navigate life’s many challenges together.

I believe therapy should be both a safe space and a space for growth. My clients often tell me that I help them see what they’ve been avoiding, not to make them uncomfortable, but to help them find freedom on the other side of that discomfort. Working with me means we’ll look at both your strengths and your struggles. I’ll help you uncover what’s beneath the surface, teach you practical skills for real-world change, and walk beside you as you reclaim your sense of confidence, peace, and purpose.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
