Holy F%$k! Just existing, especially right now, can feel exhausting, especially when you’ve already analyzed yourself 100 times and still feel overwhelmed, isolated, or stuck. You're tired of explaining yourself and who you are. Over being told to “just cope.” Fed up with feeling like you’re the problem in a system that doesn’t make space for people and situations that are different. I’m Mark (He/They), local neurodivergent queer weirdo, here to help. I work with people navigating anxiety, ADHD, Autism, identity exploration, neurodivergence, and life transitions—all in an honest, direct, laid-back, and actually useful package.

People think they get it, but they don't. “Oh what do you do?” “I'm an air traffic controller.” You get one of two responses: Either, “That's so interesting!”, followed by a million follow up questions. Or “WOW that's a stressful job.” What do you say to that? Yes? No? "It's mostly hours of mundane canned responses over and over broken up by waves of chaos where you have to do everything perfectly while you hold thousands of lives in your hands?" Or rather your headset.

Feeling stuck in your head, anxious, and wondering if you’ll ever be good enough? If trauma, chronic stress, or toxic relationships left you overwhelmed or full of self-doubt, I offer down-to-earth, supportive therapy to help you reconnect with yourself and find solid ground again. For 20 years, I’ve helped adults and kids move beyond anxiety, people-pleasing, and emotional overload. If you’ve done the work before, tried to heal on your own, or had therapy that didn’t go deep enough, it might be time to be truly seen, deep down, with warmth and without judgment. If trauma made you funny, I get it, and it's welcome here.

If you're reading this, chances are you’re carrying something heavy ... maybe quietly, maybe with a sense that you're ready for change but unsure how to begin. I want you to know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to sort through it all on your own. The people I work with are often in seasons of transition. They may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in recurring patterns, or uncertain about who they’re becoming. Some are working through relationship challenges, grief, identity questions, or just trying to understand why life feels harder than it should.

It is important for individuals to have a safe place to explore themselves without judgment. Counseling allows a person to work through past traumas, identify present stressors, and implement plans to increase quality of life for the future. Counseling is molded around the life goals of the individual. Mental wellness and inner peace are in the hands of each individual, however sometimes it takes the guidance of a professional to find that power within ourselves. The relationship built, and techniques used are proven to increase quality of life in those suffering from emotional and cognitive (thinking) disturbances.

Middle School: The Emotional Equivalent of a Trash Can Fire (and How to Put It Out). One day you’re buying them a cute backpack with dinosaurs on it, and the next, you’re living with a tiny, volatile human who treats a slightly-too-long pause in your sentence like a personal declaration of war. Welcome to the middle school years—where the social drama is high-octane, the "Comparison Trap" is a literal pit of despair, and your child’s mood changes faster than a TikTok trend. It’s intense. It’s loud. And for you, the parent, it’s exhausting.

I believe that each individual has the strength and potential to live the life they have always dreamed of living! I am passionate about working with children and families. I have particular interest in helping stressed families deal with challenges associated with parenting and family dynamics. I truly believe that individuals know how to solve their own problems, however, they may lack self-confidence, support, or the courage to do so. Anxiety catches us and fear holds us, but we are not destined to live a life without hope!

With individuals—both teens and adults—I enjoy helping clients build a stronger sense of self, strengthen family and peer relationships, and better understand their unique strengths and interests.
I aim to create a space where you can come to know yourself on a deeper level—gaining insight into your thoughts, emotions, and how they shape your behaviors, both helpful and unhelpful. As self-awareness grows, it becomes easier to build healthier relationships, live with greater meaning, and pursue paths that feel fulfilling and aligned. If you’re feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, depression, or uncertainty—whether in your personal life, relationships, school or career—I work alongside you to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
