Greetings! I, Chondra A. Perdue, am accepting new clients in the states of both TEXAS and NEVADA. Life is a journey that sometimes lands in a space where you may need someone objective or unbiased but trained to help you process thoughts and feelings. I provide counseling services to promote balanced and healthier living.

Life and relationships can have us feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes fear, communication and relationship conflict arise, and we wonder how to handle it or what tools can help us. Some keys to managing these concerns are: insight on what changes need to be made, what resources are available, what tools are available and how they are used. Going through tough times in life can already be challenging but going through them alone can be scary and confusing. Take comfort in knowing you do not have to go through alone. In addition, I can also help the entire family navigate through teen years, and strengthen family bond. Lastly, I can help to bring couples closer than ever before. Couples gain skills that garner success from the dating & pre-marital stages to the "empty-nest” stage.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you experience challenges that others may not understand. You may be tired of not expressing yourself, feeling like you have to hide parts of yourself to keep the peace, or feeling ashamed. You might not even remember a time things didn't feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you're ready for some relief. You're ready to start living authentically. You're ready to be proud of who you are. But, most of all, you're prepared not to hide anymore!

Brooks Psychology: Women's Wellness. The foundation of my therapeutic approach is a combination between Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy with an implementation of Creative Arts. My sessions are forward focused in which the treatment plan is focused on areas of growth. With that said every treatment plan created is personalized for the individual based on their needs, wants and symptoms, but is catered to female oriented issues. Do you struggle with relationships, regulating your emotions, feelings of shame and guilt, and setting healthy boundaries? Do you feel unsafe in relationships, settings, and/or situations and find yourself hypervigilant for threats? You may be experiencing the effects of Developmental/Complex Trauma which typically results from repeated or multiple traumas experienced in childhood. Usually, these are interpersonal traumas where the caregivers unintentionally or intentionally fail to provide secure attachment, safety, and validation which can wire the developing brain mainly for survival rather than for trust in relationships.

Mental Health recovery is possible and it starts with having the courage to seek help. Taking care of your mental health is an act of self-love. There is no shame in seeking help for your mental health. I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and other day-to-day challenges. It is my goal to help clients identify their strengths, help you learn coping skills, gain insight into your thought patterns and behaviors; to help you navigate life’s daily stressors and overcome the greater obstacles.

When you look up strength on Google, you find several definitions, but one stands out: the emotional or mental qualities necessary in dealing with situations or events that are distressing or difficult. No one can control nor predict when difficult things will happen, but it is a guarantee that challenges do occur in every life. Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness; is the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity. There is strength in your resilience! Every human being has been endowed with resilience.

I am first and foremost a Christian, then I am a counselor. It is the application of biblical principles that allow me to bring lasting results in the lives of my clients. I use a wide variety of theoretical approaches, techniques and activities depending on the needs of the client. Acting as a guide that comes along your side, my goal is to assist you in identifying and resolving conflicts that have lingered in your life. We will explore the events that have impacted you the most, but we will focus on your current circumstances and begin taking proactive steps for a better future.

I specialize in providing in-person and virtual therapy for preteens through adults who are struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, focus, grief, and/or the effects of traumatic experiences. I have 20 years of experience in counseling, which includes a total 26 years of working with youth in high school. I can help you define goals, express or rediscover your values, recognize and use your strengths, take manageable steps toward healing, and most importantly, tell your story.

I’m a recovering perfectionist. And I thought I was doing pretty good with my journey, until I experienced an unexpected major stroke. That major life crisis was, ironically, a great opportunity to reassess what I was doing to take care of myself…physically and emotionally. As a high-achieving Black woman who was recovering from perfectionism, turned into a Black woman who is a stroke survivor, I’m passionate about helping other high-achieving women of color to pause, to breathe, and to assess what they are doing to take care of themselves…physically and emotionally.
