I’m a trauma-informed therapist with a strong background in crisis work, grief, and loss.
I truly believe everyone’s got a story worth telling, and I’d be honored to hear yours. I want to get to know you—what brought you here, what you’re carrying, and what you’re hoping for. To me, meeting you where you are means understanding that what works for one person might not work for another. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to healing.

I help with overwhelm, relationship stress, people-pleasing, masking, self-criticism, trauma, and feeling disconnected from yourself.
My name's Jessica and I work with neurodivergent women, especially moms, who in many ways, don't want to end up like their own mothers. They don't want to live life with anger, resentment, loneliness, martyrdom, or low self worth. They don't want to move from connection to connection without ever really feeling like they belong.
Many of my clients come to therapy carrying things no one should ever have to carry alone. They need help understanding their feelings, overcoming the negative self talk loop, reconnecting with their body, and finding joy and compassion for themselves and others despite their own curated chaos.

Whether you are a teen struggling with adjusting to a new school or changing peer relationships, a college student facing a ticking clock demanding you choose a major, a young professional dealing with navigating the change from youth to adulting, or even an individual dealing with divorce or relationship concerns, I can help. All of these "normal" life changes can be accompanied by feelings of worry, stress, and anxiety that hinder our ability to progress as we need. Therapy is a wonderful means of working through the "noise" caused by anxiety, worry, and stress and dealing with the root of the issues you are facing.

Do you feel like you’ll never be free from the distress of your past trauma?
I know how devastating and distressing things like trauma, abuse, anxiety, grief, and other issues can be. My overall goal is to help you decrease the intensity and frequency of distress to overcome these struggles, and to feel more confident in handling and enjoying life. This looks different for every person, as does treatment.

With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, social skills, parent education, coping skills, suicidal ideation, academics, college prep, and drug/alcohol abuse.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, (1943), "The Theory of Human Motivation", reads: if a person’s basic needs (food, shelter, physical/mental safety) and social needs (love, belonging, self-worth, sense of purpose) are not fulfilled, that person will experience frustration and will “pivot” on a level of need that appears easiest to satisfy. Which level of need are you "stuck" on? Are you bound by anxious, fearful and mind-binding thoughts? Freedom is a goal that can be attained.

I feel that therapy shouldn't be scary or too formal, but instead easy like casual conversation. A session can be a fun, safe place where it's ok to laugh. There is sometimes a stigma surrounding therapy because of the idea that one must have something "wrong" to need therapy. Sometimes goals or ideas or feelings that seem like mountains to overcome or attain are most easily traversed by simply talking things out with someone who has an outside view of the situation. As a counselor, my ultimate goal is to assist every individual with becoming their own best advocates and working towards self-accountability.

If your child, or a child that you know, has experienced trauma and nothing seems to truly help them please consider contacting me.
Got faith? Most of us struggle with the obstacles and challenges and we are in search of solutions. These struggles can be within yourself or within your relationships with those closest to you. The solutions that we try do not always work because we are looking in the wrong places. With faith in God, we can find the answers together.

Kandis Snowden is a Licensed Professional Counselor. lt's challenging to go into a fancy office and speak with a stranger in a world with so much stigma regarding help for our mental health. My heart desires to make you feel safe and welcome. I offer a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, like sitting on the porch. By caring, we allow growth, healing, and change to occur—a place to sit on a porch where anything can be said and not held against you. If you want to understand the past or want to discuss the future; there is nothing that good ol’ porch therapy cannot do.

For military families, anxiety is often a shared yet unspoken companion. The unique challenges of military life, from deployments to constant relocations, can foster a sense of perpetual uncertainty. Acknowledging these shared experiences is vital in understanding that while the journey is challenging, it's also a path towards collective strength and support.

Welcome! My name is Maddie and I have been a licensed therapist for nearly 5 years. I am certified in EMDR and have significant experience working with individuals who have experienced abuse and homelessness. A session with me will look like we are two friends chatting over coffee, curled up in a comfy seat and probably coloring. I hope to provide you a safe place to be yourself, process difficult things, and provide you with the tools necessary to experience peace and overall health.

I later worked in the hospital assisting multiple clinics along with the acute behavioral health department and most recently worked with Combat Veterans to assist with PTSD and transitioning to civilian lifestyle.
My therapeutic approach provides support and intentional feedback to help clients effectively address personal life changes using a variety of modalities. I meet clients where they are at by utilizing a strength base approach with compassion and understanding. This allows them the opportunity to be themselves and speak freely to cultivate positive change.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
