I enjoy supporting my clients in navigating anxiety, grief,
women's issues
, trauma/PTSD, and multicultural transitions.
Connection is the missing link to trauma, anxiety, grief, and life transitions, however sometimes it's easier to disconnect. My practice supports clients who are seeking to find relief, healing, and reconnection. I've been in the mental health field for over 10+ years and I've been there, life is challenging, and I want you to know that you don't have to do it alone. My therapeutic approach is through an eclectic framework to find a way that works for you. If your goal is to grow, improve unhealthy habits, and heal through belonging, I welcome you to start here.

I help women navigate through life transitions and address
women's issues
, feelings of depression, anxiety, and overwhelm.
The pressure of being a woman in today’s society can be challenging, even for the most successful. The idea that we have to “do it all” in order to “have it all” can be overwhelming. Each stage of a woman's life can present a different set of challenges. Are you struggling as you are entering into adulthood or find retirement to be a challenge? Somewhere in-between? Do you feel guilty because you chose a career over a family, or a family over a career? Maybe you chose both but feel you are not living up to your or everyone else's expectations? Do you feel like part of your life is missing but you are not sure how to find it?

You are not okay. You want to be, but you don’t know how. You want someone to not just listen, but to give you real world solutions to help you move forward into the version of you who is happy, healthy, & whole. You are afraid it isn't possible. You know it will be hard & you are willing to do the work necessary as long as you have someone standing by you on this journey. You need someone to be real with you, not patronize you. You need a nonjudgmental & supportive space. You need to know that you are not alone, & it is okay to hope. I will hold that hope until you are ready to take it back from me. Let me show you the way forward.

There is a season in everyone's journey when you need an objective listener to affirm your strengths and identify any self-defeating patterns preventing you from being your best self. Over the past 19 years, I have valued collaborating with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions,
women's issues
, career struggles (unique differences after 50), spirituality, overcoming abuse, healing relationships, coping with chronic/acute medical conditions, preparing/coping for retirement, and caregiving. Grieving is a natural response to any significant loss. I see only individual adults 23 yrs and up. No children or couples.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
