I am trauma informed and worked 5 years at a substance use treatment center.
Are you stuck in your relationships, feeling depressed and anxious about the future? I am here to help individuals or couples identify and get their needs met through CBT and DBT focused skills and modalities. I have a Hispanic background that helps me access different cultural perspectives and look at the issues from different viewpoints so that together we can learn the root of the conflicts and poor functioning. Helping individuals and couples through goal setting and values exploration is my passion and my hope for a therapeutic alliance.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore what’s happening in your life. It’s part of being human to face tough times, and reaching out for support is a powerful first step. I work with clients navigating trauma, loss, difficult transitions, and the lasting impact of early experiences on relationships and emotional well-being. I see therapy as a journey of reconnection, exploring how your family system and life experiences have shaped you and how you can move toward healing and growth.

Hey there! I'm so proud of you for starting your mental health journey. I know how hard it can be as an outside-the-box human who does not fit into the typical mold. Counseling is a vulnerable process, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space where you can be yourself and share your story. I enjoy collaborating with clients, and I believe the way we understand and frame our experiences has a powerful impact on emotional and mental well-being.

I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for adults experiencing anxiety and depressive disorders related to unsuccessful relationships. In our work together, you'll learn practical skills to rediscover your identity and purpose. My approach to therapy is based on mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which allows for deeper healing than traditional talk therapy. Clients come to me looking for someone who “gets” what happened to them on a deeper level because therapy should be a place where you feel safe and validated.

Everyone wants to be seen, heard and their experience validated. I've been a therapist for 20 yrs, and I have long term clients who have stayed with me or come back to me because of the relationship we built together. They are known, seen, heard and validated by me, whatever their experience, whatever their issues, that is the foundation for the work we do together.

In my clinical internship, I worked with co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health disorders at Luna Integrative Care.
Hello, I am a therapist at Ethos Wellness who focuses on anxiety-related disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in my clinical practice. When working with clients, I primarily practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), meaning that we focus on the thoughts, beliefs, and symptoms that are preventing people from living the life that they want. I try to make the therapy experience unique by asking for input throughout the journey, providing a lot of rationale, and prioritizing collaboration. I believe that treatment is most effective when that is the case.

I specialize in: EMDR (Helping your brain "digest" stuck memories so they no longer carry a painful physical sting), Complex Trauma & Substance Use (I look at self-medicating with curiosity and compassion, not judgment.
If you’ve spent a long time carrying things that feel "unthinkable," I want you to take a breath and know: You aren't a burden, and you don't have to have the perfect words to be here. Many of us who have experienced deep-rooted or childhood trauma become experts at hiding. We worry our stories are "too much," so we stop reaching out to avoid "heavying up" someone else's life. I offer a different kind of space—a soft place to land when the world feels overwhelming and a touchpoint of safety for your nervous system. If this hit a little bit differently for you - I'm your gal!

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
