Making use of a resiliency-based, trauma informed, and individual centered approach, I integrate evidence-based interventions, such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Training, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Intervention and Safety Planning.
Bilingual. We all have been in a place where a "change" on how we relate, reason and think... has been easier said than done. Change is also one of the few constants in life. When was the last time that you looked into you? As a fellow human being, I know that feeling vulnerable can be unbearable. I truly enjoy listening to people and empower them to find in therapy a safe space and meaning of their life "story". I believe that we all deserve to feel seen and heard, without judgements. Find in me an ally, I strive on accompanying people to find a personal growth and make informed decisions about their mental health.

It can be hard to admit when you’re struggling. Many people learn to hide fear or pain, believing that asking for help is a burden or a sign of weakness. During periods of transition — or when life slows down — these patterns often become more visible. Reaching out isn’t a failure; it’s an act of strength and self-respect. My goal is to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel understood, empowered, and not alone as you move toward healing.

Life can bring different challenges that we face. Whether it's coping with chronic anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, depression, or continuing the search for meaning and purpose in your life. Therapy is a tool that can be used to assist in problem-solving life's challenges on your own terms. Most clients desire a safe non-judgement space to explore your thoughts and feelings, regulate emotions and increase self-compassion, and learn tools to build secure relationships and strengthen supports. Clients utilize therapy to assist with relief from emotional stress, personal growth, clarity, and mental/emotional freedom.

How can therapy help me with my problems? That is a question I am sure a lot of people ask themselves when considering therapy. One of my philosophies in life is that although we cannot always control our experiences and circumstances, we can choose our responses to them and delve into how they affect and influence us as humans. Presence is essential. I understand that I cannot change any individual other than myself, but I can act as a vessel or catalyst by truly understanding myself to help another person. My goal is to create an environment where you become the best you as possible by looking into all aspects of your life.

Many couples arrive in my office after years of struggle. They face the same arguments on repeat. Miscommunication turns small things into big misunderstandings. Constant conflict arises over money, chores, or in-laws. Parenting differences leave you feeling undermined or like you're not on the same team. You feel out of sync even when you're in the same room. Sometimes there's the lingering fallout from a betrayal that still hurts. They've often tried everything on their own. Yet they still feel stuck, wondering if things can ever get better.

Positive Psychology Therapists
How does positive psychology therapy work?
Positive psychology therapy derives from the work of Martin Seligman of the University of Pennsylvania. He and others developed the field of positive psychology building on humanistic theory. Positive psychology therapy is similar to acceptance and commitment therapy, and it essentially quiets emotional distress through positivity, contentment, and well-being. This therapy does not reduce the individual to symptoms and conditions.

When do I know if I need treatment using positive psychology?
If an individual is overwhelmed by emotional distress and general negativity, they may feel trapped. A positive psychology therapist can help them view their emotions and behaviors differently, and approach life with a better understanding of their positive strengths. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from positive psychology therapy?
The patient may be asked to explore their signature strengths. The therapist will also ask the individual to talk about their goals, which should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. Discussing negative experiences and symptoms is important, but so is the exploration of positive experiences. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more positive and fulfilling way. This therapy is proactive and may use forgiveness, gratitude, hope, and compassion to help reframe negativity.

Is positive psychology effective in therapy?
Positive psychology therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with eating disorders benefit from this type of intervention. This therapy encourages the person to reframe their distressed thoughts and move into healthier patterns of functioning. This therapy also aims to move an individual toward what works well in their life. Positive psychology therapy can elicit lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
