I have 20+ years of experience helping adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression and trauma using evidenced based methods like CBT, EMDR, and ERP to break negative patterns and build lasting emotional wellness.
Do you find yourself worrying about the same things over and over again? Do you repeat behaviors-even ones you want to change-no matter how hard you try to stop? Do you avoid situations that make you feel anxious and afraid? These patterns are often part of negative thought loops, and they can have a powerful impact on your mood, relationships, and day-to-day life. Sometimes we get stuck in these loops for years without realizing how much they're holding us back. The good news is: change is possible. With the support of therapy, you can learn practical tools to break free from these cycles.

I have also received training for CBT, DBT, CBT-I (for Insomnia) and Ex/Rp for OCD.
Book with me now by Clicking on my Website. Confusion. So Many things have happened in your life, and you can’t seem to put your finger on “why?”. It’s as if you are putting together some of the pieces of the puzzle but something is missing. You have the edges and even most of the center…but you see that it’s not complete. Yet again you ask yourself that haunting question - ‘why do I keep doing some of these same behaviors?’ And you’ve sought out help from many different people both professionals and friends; you’ve even turned to your faith for answers but all to no avail.

My goal is to help you live a life with greater calm and acceptance, greater resilience in the face of difficulties, a greater sense of energy, effectiveness and elegance in living, an enhanced sense of choice and satisfaction, and improved intimacy with loved ones and friends.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in providing empirically-supported treatments for anxiety disorders, OCD, Tourette/tic disorders, panic, hair pulling, and LGBT health.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is first and foremost evidenced based and solution focused. It is not a traditional "talk therapy" where patients play a passive role while the therapist provides analysis. Rather, treatment is present-focused, collaborative, and skills-based. I also provide psychoeducational and ADHD evaluations.

I work with clients who are struggling with OCD and body focused repetitive behaviors, and other anxiety disorders.
A therapist is like a dentist. We can avoid them for a while, and sometimes we find one we like or don't like. Eventually, though, everyone needs to see one. Therapy won't solve your problems, but it will help equip you with the tools you need to get through. We offer in-person and video sessions, and see children to adults. We have several groups available, and we accept insurance and offer a sliding scale. We believe therapy is for everyone. Contact us for a free consultation. Even if you don't end up seeing a therapist with our practice, we can help you find someone that you connect with.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
