I predominantly work with adolescents and adults and have been trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for the treatment of anxiety and OCD .
It can be difficult to ask for help; we may feel weak, hopeless, or disappointed. Asking for help requires strength and courage and may be a journey through both darkness and light. I believe it is important to trust the process, sit with our uncomfortable feelings, and accept our emotions for what they are. Vulnerability, shame, and fear may make it difficult to share, at times, but know this is normal as we navigate change. There is a lot to be learned from our dark times, and, as a therapist, I hope to be along side you in your journey of growth.

How to find the right counselor? is a question I often hear. First, you would want to find a counselor who has training with your areas of concerns. I work with adult clients and my primary specialities are anxiety (panic attacks, excessive worry, physical symptoms, sleep problems) OCD and trauma/grief. I use evidenced based methods, such as CBT and ERP. Second, having a good therapeutic relationship is as important as using the right treatment method in order to make progress in therapy. We will take a collaborative approach with defining your counseling goals and planning your progress.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions). It affects children, kids, teens and adults. Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety. A person's level of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if severe and left untreated, it can destroy a person's capacity to function at work, at school or even to lead a comfortable existence in the home.
