You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why nothing has really worked so far. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, or maybe you’re hesitant to open up at all. Either way, something isn’t sitting right—and you’re ready for that to change.
I work with people who want more than surface-level coping. People who want to understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and move forward in a way that actually feels meaningful and lasting.

I believe that my ideal client is searching for answers and is ready for help. They may feel that they have asked others in the past, but not given the expectation that was needed. The client is open for guidance perhaps seeking a purpose and meaning in life. Optimism is needed for whatever struggles that they are facing. A promising viewpoint on life and hope are the ultimate goals as progress will impact them in a positive manner.

We are a society in which everyone of us - individually - is expected to "pull ourselves up by our proverbial boot-straps and keep going," which has its benefits and drawbacks, the biggest problem being that the metaphorical straps will inevitably break, leaving individuals isolated, with relationship and/or work difficulties. I wonder if you could consider it an act of strength and courage - rather than weakness - both to seek help and then to risk receiving it?
Engaging in a process to explore your inner world and how it relates to your outer world is a radical brave move. It is like a class in yourself and how you/we work!

I specialize in working with women, couples, and individuals who are experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, and life transitions.
I believe healing is not about fixing what’s broken, but about understanding the patterns, responses, and stories that shape you. My approach integrates trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and evidence-based interventions. I work collaboratively helping clients move from survival mode into a more grounded, confident, intentional way of living.

My patients often struggle with trauma, chronic suicidality, identity or self-worth, and the impact of marginalization, particularly on LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folks. I have worked with personality disorders, burnout, chronic pain and illness, eating disorders, and the aftermath of religious or attachment trauma. I am passionate about supporting men in therapy, particularly around emotional expression, vulnerability, and relational challenges, as well as working with disability as both lived experience and identity.

I'm an LCSW-S with 15+ years helping adults, couples & families, especially Latine individuals, first-gen professionals & first responders.
You might be carrying more than anyone around you knows. The weight of surviving, of showing up, of holding your family together while quietly coming apart inside. Maybe you've been stuck in the same patterns for years, or struggling to feel at home in your own life. That disconnect is real. And it doesn't have to stay.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
