Hello! I am a therapist, military spouse (recently retired) and Mom of 2. I have a passion for serving families who serve and sacrifice for our nation! For many years lived the active duty military lifestyle. I know first-hand the pain of infertility as a military spouse and navigated fertility treatments in Military Training Facilities. I have lived through deployments and unaccompanied remote assignments as a young mom and wife while managing home, kids, career and community service to fellow military spouses and families. I know the pain of being away from extended family, frequent moves and all the adventures of service life!

As a Latina therapist, I understand how cultural expectations, generational patterns, and the pressure to “hold it all together” can impact your mental health. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, substance use, or the quiet exhaustion of trying to meet everyone’s needs but your own, you deserve support that honors your story and identity. I want to meet you where you are on your path and build from there to decrease your anxiety, depression, stress, and fulfill your overall needs.

You've worked hard, followed the rules, and checked all the boxes but something still feels off. You might feel emotionally drained, disconnected in your relationships, or unsure if the life you’ve built truly feels like yours. On the outside, you’re seen as the strong one, driven, capable, and thoughtful, but inside, you may be carrying quiet anxiety, self-doubt, or a sense of never being able to fully exhale. Maybe you’re navigating big life transitions, wrestling with family or cultural expectations, or feeling the pressure to always perform. If this sounds familiar, you don’t have to keep holding it all together alone.

With a focus on mindfulness techniques, identification of nonproductive thought patterns, and encouraging a healthy life balance, clients are better equipped to manage their symptoms and daily stressors. A challenging responsibility in life is to heal emotional wounds. Family crisis, divorce, losses, anxiety or having a child with emotional or intellectual barriers to be successful in life without finding the desired answer creates frustration and distress. Psychotherapy as an alternative isn't the easiest answer but could be insightful and resilient. Children with developmental difficulties, learning disabilities, autism or conduct disorders can benefit from a holistic approach that considers the healing of their emotional pain as resource for reaching developmental goals. I work with a collaborative approach. You will discover your own potential and solutions to your specific circumstance.

Hi! I am Mylene (says: Me-lay-nee). I am a LPC-Associate. If you are looking through these pages, it probably means you either have taken a big step and decided to look for help, or you are still considering if therapy is something you really "need". This is a very intimidating and scary process. It takes a lot of courage and I am happy you are considering taking this step. Starting therapy is not an easy process and I hope I can help you to feel safe and comfortable opening up to a therapist. I work with clients 11+, of all genders and ethnical background.

I work with couples, teens, young adults and children, helping my clients create the life they deserve. My work with couples is grounded in the belief that conflict is an opportunity for deeper connection, and that healing begins when partners feel heard and understood. My philosophy is grounded in a mix of attachment theory, Gottman method, mindfulness, and collaborative therapy. I believe that we all deserve a space where we feel validated and truly understood and that couples therapy can be an important part of your journey.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
