Joseph Campbell once said, "The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are." As a therapist, I believe there can be no greater goal than to help you become your authentic self. By acknowledging you as the expert in your own life, and not imposing my own ideas of who you "should" be, my role is to help you work through any old survival strategies, reactive patterns, and physical/emotional traumas that prevent you from being the person you were meant to be, and living the life you were meant to live.

Are you walking on eggshells around your child’s big emotions or explosive behaviors? You’ve tried consequences, talking it through, staying calm — and nothing seems to stick. You’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering what else to do. Supporting a child with big feelings can feel isolating and defeating. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

You’re not broken, just tired of carrying the weight alone. You’ve been fighting to outrun the thoughts looping in your head, hoping the next thing will snap you out of it. But here you are. Something’s gotta give. You’re not ready to quit, but damn, it’s getting harder to keep pushing through. You miss that version of you, the one who wasn’t always stuck in survival mode.

If you are here, you are likely tired. Tired of carrying more than you should. Tired of explaining yourself. Tired of fighting battles internally while the world assumes you are fine. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, impulsivity, trauma, relationship strain, substance use, or a sense that your life is not aligned with who you know you can be. You may feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you recognize but cannot seem to break. You are ready to stop surviving and start living with intention, stability, and purpose, then we can do meaningful work together.

You look like you have it together. But inside, your brain won’t shut off. You overthink everything, feel behind no matter how much you do, and you’re running on stress fumes. You’ve tried to power through, read the books, maybe even done therapy before… and you’re still stuck in the same loop. What you want is simple: steady calm, clearer direction, stronger boundaries, and a life that feels like yours again.

That is possible, and I'm here to help with individualized ABA that is made just for your child, family, culture, and community.
In 2021, the CDC reported that 1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. This number had been on the rise for years, and with it the demand for quality autism therapy services. Parents of children with autism are seeking services that will help their children thrive more through increased independence, communication, living skills, and improved advocacy. Early intervention can improve learning, communication and social skills, as well as underlying brain development, so parents need these services as soon as possible.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
