Hi there, my name is Amanda and I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in Texas, Ohio, and Kansas. I have nearly two decades of experience working with people from all walks of life, and I'm passionate about brining lasting peace to the clients in my practice. I work as a clinical director with WellQor, where I see clients and also oversee a diverse team of mental health professionals. I received my MA in Clinical Psychology from SHSU in 1987 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an LSOTP. I began my career within the Texas prisons, working in the psychiatric unit. I then worked as a psychotherapist at West Oaks Psychiatric Hospital and Willowbrook Psychological Assoc. In late 1989, I returned to criminal justice arena working with sexual predators and was the first director for the SO treatment program within TDCJ. I now have a private practice, of 30 years, treating a variety of issues including anger management, anxiety, grief counseling, PTSD, secondary trauma, and female hormonal issues.

I have been in the business of the healing arts for almost 20 years - providing services from case management to individual counseling. I obtained my Bachelor' in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 2000 and my Master' in Community Counseling from Webster University in 2010. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and in good standing with the State of Texas. I have experience working with a wide range of ages, socioeconomics, and cultures, which I believe gives me a well-rounded approach to anyone in need, including individuals, families, and couples.

The Counseling Center for Families of Color (CCFC) is a group of BIPOC therapists focused on meeting the mental health needs of black and brown families and communities. CCFC provides culturally sensitive and equitable community-based services for those seeking mental health counseling for the very first time or returning to therapy.
