I have a passion for working with the Black community to destigmatize the idea of accessing mental health services. Whether it is working with a family or couple to decrease conflict and increase intimacy or assisting an individual to process trauma, helping them to have a healthier relationship with themselves and others, it brings me joy to restore families to a sense of wholeness. I also really enjoy clients who are motivated to do the work, are willing to be open and receptive to the therapeutic process and who have an intrinsic desire to increase their self-awareness regarding their needs and wants.

My name is Sky Muller, and I am a graduate student at Houston Christian University. I am being supervised by Keona Harris at D&K Counseling while striving to become a licensed marriage and family therapist. Before entering my master’s program, I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I have previous experience working with children and families in ABA therapy, social work, public school settings, and as a current intern. I am passionate about working to address anxiety, depression, social/peer concerns, and more. I specialize in play therapy working with children ages 2-12. I believe children are better able to express their feelings, needs, experiences, and thoughts via play, rather than just words. Play therapy allows children to grow and heal at their own developmental level, and I strive to promote self awareness, self expression, and improved relationships.

The driving force that makes each therapy session successful is how hard my client works to achieve his/her goals. It takes a lot to seek therapy and the first step is the most difficult one.
