I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and correlated disorders.
I'm passionate about helping kids, teens, and young adults conquer anxiety and related issues, so they can reclaim control over their lives. There's something truly special about seeing someone's true self shine through after it's been hidden by anxiety. As a mental health professional, my goal is to provide practical tools based on solid evidence to help people overcome their mental health challenges and live their lives freely. I believe therapy can be a powerful space where people can express themselves, become stronger, and achieve their goals.

I worked at the Houston OCD Program where I learned to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat depression, anxiety and anxiety related disorders.
It is our potential to have fulfilling and meaningful lives, expressed through our love and our work. Therapy supports individuals realizing this potential. Therapy is effective at alleviating acute stress, anxiety and depression and in turn finding meaning in the difficulties and struggles of life. My goal is to help you live a life with greater calm and acceptance, greater resilience in the face of difficulties, a greater sense of energy, effectiveness and elegance in living, an enhanced sense of choice and satisfaction, and improved intimacy with loved ones and friends.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, and BFRBs in individuals of all ages.
Anxiety, avoidant behaviors, and negative thinking often rob us of joy, success, or peace. Fear of the unknown and a constant desire to be certain is extremely limiting. OCD is often painfully cruel. Communication difficulties and parenting missteps create stress in our most important and treasured relationships. There isn’t a one-way-fits-all best way to parent, live, or achieve success. But, there are evidence based treatments, supported by data, that have the ability to completely change your life. Freedom from fear, resilience, confidence, and healthy relationships take work and we all need support sometimes.

Living up to today's standards can feel impossible. We might feel lost, not good enough, stuck, or caught in a cycle of stress, anxiety, depression, or burnout. Experiences like trauma, OCD, or ADHD tend to just add fuel to the fire. As a Clinical Psychologist I provide the latest evidence-based treatments for those with anxiety complicated by other factors, such as trauma, neurodivergence, perfectionism, and shame. Through our work together I will help you learn new skills, process emotions, and have renewed hope that you can have a life full of meaning and fulfillment.

Particularly, I specialize in working with teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing trauma, OCD, and depression concerns to name a few.
CaLm DoWn: Has anyone ever told you this before? I know, it really gets under my skin, too. Do I really need therapy? What's the point of sitting on a couch and talking with a stranger about my problems? I'm way too busy to be speaking with this guy for an hour anyway - - All of us have difficult moments in our lives that lead us to seek out therapy. Sadness can feel like it will never end. Anger is felt in our head, but we may feel judged by others for expressing it. If only there was a button we could press that would make us feel happiness. Though that magic button may not exist, we can work to create a new path together.

Perhaps your teenager is dealing with strong emotions, OCD thoughts, social anxiety, depression, school pressure, suicidal thoughts, self-esteem issues, or self-harm. Or maybe your family needs help building stronger connections and improving communication.

As a group of psychologists, we work with people who are no longer doing things that bring them joy or that aligns with their values, and may feel overwhelming emotions. We often help people who struggle with depression, substance use, anxiety, OCD, panic, and insomnia. We especially enjoy working with people of the LGBTQI+ community. Together, we help our patients re-balance their lives and find ways to connect with the people and passions that define their lives.

Life feels like a constant game of catch-up, leaving you feeling drained and overwhelmed. You're often running late, forgetting important things, and struggling to keep up with your to-do list. People may think you're doing okay because you hide how you feel, but inside, you feel like you're falling apart. You feel consumed by worry, anxiety, and your fear of messing up and failing. You long to feel normal and in control of your life. You want to wake up refreshed and enjoy your life. You need a break from the noise in your head and a chance to catch your breath. I get it, and I can help you find joy and balance in your life.

You're an adult woman who's doing it all while feeling disconnected and unsure of what you really want. You feel confused by your dissatisfaction with your primary relationships or your career - because you have a great family, good job, good supports, etc. And, no one really wants to hear about it, often calling you ridiculous instead. You probably find yourself wondering, "What's wrong with me?" or "Why can't I get this right?" If you're looking for unbiased support from someone outside your family and community, I'm here to tell you you're not ridiculous AND I want to hear all about it!

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
