All people have needs and the capacity for emotions. Even though we have this in common, who you are and your response to the environment are unique. I see each person, couple, and family as distinctive. I start with a curiosity to learn more about you in a safe environment. My therapeutic process has a general focus on promoting self-awareness and healthy choices. I will work toward your growth, development, and wellness by asking about your thought processes, exploring your behavior, and attending to emotions. With individuals, couples, and families, I pay attention to the relationship to self and others.

I work with individuals, couples, and families, age 18 or older, who are navigating stress management, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal relationship challenges.
Everyone has a story, and sometimes those stories are rife with pain, confusion, questions, and uncertainty that may be compounded by not knowing who one can openly share with, without judgement or repercussions. I build therapeutic relationships with clients with the core beliefs that you matter, your story matters, and that you and your story are safe with me.

Over time, that kind of quiet pressure can turn into anxiety, emotional fatigue, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
My approach is relational and attachment-based, with attention to how stress and emotions show up in the body. Together, we focus on building awareness, self-trust, and a greater sense of steadiness, without rushing or needing to have everything figured out.

My name's Jessica and I work with neurodivergent women, especially moms, who in many ways, don't want to end up like their own mothers. They don't want to live life with anger, resentment, loneliness, martyrdom, or low self worth. They don't want to move from connection to connection without ever really feeling like they belong. Many of my clients come to therapy carrying things no one should ever have to carry alone. They need help understanding their feelings, overcoming the negative self talk loop, reconnecting with their body, and finding joy and compassion for themselves and others despite their own curated chaos.

I work especially well with adults who are capable, responsible, and motivated, but feel anxious or burned out from carrying too much.
I specialize in helping adults reduce anxiety by addressing the patterns undeneath it, particularly over-responsibility, boundary burnout, and relational stress. For many, anxiety isn't irrational. It is a response to being stretched beyond what is sustainable, often in environments where integrity, clarity and fairness feel compromised.

Most of the clients that I have worked with have experiences with depression, anxiety, grief, and coping with role changes across the lifespan.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of Texas seeing patients via Telehealth. I primarily work with adults and have had a heavy emphasis in working with older adults (55+). My therapeutic approach is heavily influenced by the patient and their needs. I really enjoy the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as they both provide an avenue for the client to take control of their therapeutic experience while I act as a guide to provide them the ultimate client-centered experience.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
