If you’re an adult in Texas feeling like you’re just going through the motions, you deserve a space where you can finally exhale.
There is no "one size fits all". We’ll look at the patterns keeping you stuck using CBT to shift those unhelpful thoughts, and SFBT to get you moving toward your goals quickly. My approach is Client-Centered, which is just a fancy way of saying you are the expert on your life, and I am here to walk alongside you without judgment.

I have experience working with adults & children.
An ideal client is one that has the courage and strength to come therapy in the first place! Anyone is capable of change, as long as you work towards it, and you have already taken your first step. Everyone deserves to live their best life, and sometimes we just need a little guidance to get there. It is my goal to be that support for all of my potential clients. Together we will work towards the goals you set for yourself.

My work with adults (18+) is very similar, but also includes marriage struggles, life transitions, and faith, to name just a few.
I am also certified in CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia). I can offer practical and therapeutic aid in overcoming your sleep issues. It is my belief that no topic is too heavy or insignificant. As a counselor, it is my privilege to provide an empathetic, objective, and healthy environment for you to explore what matters most in your life.

I have worked with teens and adults on a variety of issues, including depression, Bipolar, anxiety, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, parenting issues, trauma, anger, and more.
Welcome! My name is Pamela Tanis, and I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the past six years. My approach is warm, compassionate, and supportive, and I hold a safe space for my clients to express themselves as they work through challenges. I tend to use cognitive behavioral therapy, which looks at how thoughts connect to behavior and produce actions. I also use a psychodynamic approach, reality-based therapy, and brief solution-focused. A mix of these modalities helps bring in the focus of challenges to work through.

I love working with people who are motivated to figure out what is keeping them stuck and how to get unstuck. Working with neurodiverse individuals to help them understand their brains, how they are wired, and how to work with that wiring is a passion for me. Helping parents understand what is going on in their child's brain that causes the big emotions, challenging behaviors, or anxieties in a way that helps them be the best parents for the kids is extremely gratifying. For people struggling in their academics or jobs, finding the puzzle pieces that unlock their struggles and let them thrive is a joy.

Life can be a lot. Maybe you feel anxious, burned out, disconnected, or tired of holding everything together while pretending you are fine. Maybe you keep finding yourself in the same relationship dynamics, emotional spirals, or old patterns and wonder, “Why do I keep doing this?” You may also be navigating trauma, grief, ADHD, depression, postpartum changes, divorce, family conflict, or relationship stress. My approach is warm, honest, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Therapy is not about becoming someone else; it is about understanding yourself more deeply and creating a life that feels more honest, connected, and meaningful.

I have experience working with children, youth that are incarcerated, adolescents, families, and adults from various backgrounds.
Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I’m a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, and I truly believe that everyone has the strength to face life’s challenges, even when it doesn’t feel that way. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming like a puzzle that’s hard to piece together, but you don’t have to work through it alone. One of my favorite authors once wrote, “you do not yield,” I hold onto that as a reminder of the resilience we all carry, even in our toughest seasons. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you or your child can feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll take steps toward healing, hope, and lasting growth.

With over 15 years of counseling experience, I enjoy working with older children, adolescents, and adults.
My goal is to help you (my client) navigate difficulties, process past challenging events while meeting you where you are on this life journey. Similar to a lighthouse that shines on the rocks to help guide ships navigating the rocky shore, I aim to help shed light by listening and reflecting in dark and difficult areas. I do come from a Christian worldview while honoring and respecting your beliefs and faith.

Welcome! I'm Jennifer Caballero, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in grief and loss. We are all impacted by grief during our lifetime and yet grief is something that we rarely talk about as a society. Grief is a normal response to any loss. It has no timeline, easy fix, or specific set of instructions for healing. I believe grief is not pathological, or a problem that needs to be "fixed" or "gotten over." Grief is a journey that is unique to everyone. My approach is to help you identify how grief shows up and impacts your life while providing coping skills that allow you to incorporate grief into your ongoing story.

FAQ - About Adult Counseling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioral therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists hold various licenses depending on their training and state requirements. Common therapy credentials include Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs). Psychologists (PhD or PsyD) receive additional doctoral-level training and may focus on assessments or more specialized therapeutic approaches. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
