I understand the exhaustion that comes from trying to fit into a world that wasn't necessarily designed for your mind—or watching your child struggle in that same world. Whether you're navigating these challenges yourself, or supporting a child who is, you've probably spent years being told to change many behaviors to fit more appropriately into systems that weren't built with neurodivergent minds in mind. The truth is, these struggles are all valid. And they deserve compassionate support, not dismissal. Your experiences matter, your child's experiences matter, and everyone deserves care that honors who you truly are.

Couple issues? Family problems? Children or Adolescents with issues? An individual struggling with problems? No matter the stage in your life or relationship there can be bumps in the road at times. Sometimes no matter how hard you may try, you may find you are struggling. Sometimes we find that despite our best efforts we may need help with certain aspects of life. Perhaps we need help leaving old unhealthy behaviors behind, or maybe we need help learning better ways of communicating with our loved ones.

I work best with individuals and couples ready to break patterns shaped by past trauma. Many are first responders, high-conflict couples, or those navigating PTSD, addiction, or relational pain. I view trauma as deeply personal and use a systems lens and neuroscience to help clients gain clarity, build self-awareness, and create meaningful change. I also offer Christian counseling when desired, while respecting all faith journeys.

I support moms navigating pregnancy, postpartum, & the challenges within parenting. Many appear high-functioning, but feel overwhelmed internally. The reality is that they are carrying anxiety, intrusive thoughts, guilt, and the pressure to “get it right” and not "damage" their child. They come in feeling exhausted by the mental load, disconnected from themselves or their partner, and unsure how to move forward. Through collaborative, structured therapy, I help them regulate their emotions, reduce anxiety, depression, guilt, & rebuild confidence so they can feel more grounded, present, and aligned in motherhood. I support dads too!

Together, we can process what you’ve been through, explore calming tools for the mind and body, and create space for the hope and clarity you’ve been looking for.

Counseling has the potential to be both frightening and exhilarating. Stating your dreams and working toward goals is a way to ensure that your personal growth is in the direction you hope for. I use visual aids and unique illustrations of topics discussed, so if you fear that you may have trouble talking at first, don't worry; it will be easier than you think!

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
