I specialize in working with children/adolescents with a variety of presenting symptoms. I understand that children must be counseled in the context of their family system and incorporate family therapy in my treatment processes. I have experience working with sexually and physically abused children, adolescents, and adults and those struggling with trauma reminders. I also work with individuals struggling with depression or behavior changes following a change in relationship dynamics such as divorce or military deployment. I offer sessions with and without my therapy dog-in-training, a sweet Bernedoodle named Sullivan.

I am a 20 year Army Veteran trained in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Individual counseling techniques. I understand the unique stresses of military life. I have worked with military families both while in the Army and since. I use the Gottman Method for couples counseling. Gottman is considered the gold standard in Couples Counseling, it is one of the best researched therapies with one of the highest success rates.

My role in psychotherapy is simple. I work as a guide to help lead clients from 3rd dimensional consciousness to new levels of awareness. After working in a large group practice in Houston, TX for 7 years, I accepted a faculty position in the Graduate Counseling Program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. I am the training clinic director at UMHB, but I did not want to completely abandon clinical practice. I see a small number of clients part-time in the Temple/Belton area. My job is to provide hope, improve relationships, and increase perceived options for my clients.
