Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, MEd, LMFT-A
Over the last 15 years I have had the honor of working in inpatient facilities, eating disorder treatment centers, hospital inpatient settings, military populations and first responders, prenatal and postpartum care, and incarcerated populations. People simply fascinate me. The trauma, the loss, and the pain are no match for the human spirit of resiliency and faith. There is no sliding scale for trauma - a loss is a loss. And while we wrestle with finding meaning even in the dark and broken places, hope seeps in. No one is too far gone or too broken. No one should do this alone, and NO ONE deserves judgment for seeking help.
Is your family struggling with conflict? Are you feeling overwhelmed with your marriage or relationship? Have you had a recent divorce or hard break-up? Are you having difficulty in effectively communicating with your partner, child/teen, or family? I work with individuals, couples, and the entire family system. My goal is to help you and/or your family navigate through these challenging times towards hope by improving relationships, communication skills, self-worth, and healthier ways of relating. I believe empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a nonjudgmental stance facilitate change, healing, and growth.
I believe that effective psychotherapy provides a person with increased understanding and self-awareness. My passion and calling is to help people heal and progress along life's journey. By gaining insight into lifelong maladaptive patterns, a person can gain the ability to have a healthier and happier lifestyle and outlook on life. By viewing self and others differently way, clients can find hope and peace in their lives. It is important to me that clients feel empowered and encouraged to not only take care of themselves, but also find ways to have more meaningful relationships with others.
*My practice is online with no in-person service options*. Do you find yourself struggling more days than not? Is there something that happened in your past that is still affecting you today? Are your relationships with your partner, children, or parents unhealthy? Maybe you don't feel like you have a handle on your mood, stress, or ability to cope with changes in your life. Do you find yourself thinking "I'm not good enough" or other unhelpful thoughts? You might find that you have anxiety that comes at the worst moments, making it hard to thrive. What can you do when even your best support and coping isn't helping?
Are you part of the "I’m fine" club? In a career field that requires you to be "on" all the time and reaching out for help feels shameful or equals weakness? Maybe you can’t share what goes on in your day-to-day because you see the worst of it. You don’t enjoy the activities you once did and snap with irritation at the slightest request. Perhaps you've survived the unimaginable, but now you want to really live. I imagine it took a significant amount of courage to get to this point. I want to honor your bravery in reaching out and give you the tools to be an active participant in your life.
My style is best described as one blending gratitude, realism and compassion. Similarly, with certifications in both DBT and EMDR, I find working with others to be an enriching process as well as learning how to be resilient in the face of change.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, anxiety, depression, and parenting skills. I use a person-centered and eclectic approach in sessions; meaning meeting a client where the are and tailoring the approach to meet their individual needs.
Are you stressed, overwhelmed and having trouble finding the positives around you or seeing your own strengths? Maybe you are struggling with current or past relationships or life transitions? Do you have a kiddo who is struggling behaviorally? Taking the leap to begin therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I enjoy the privilege of helping people find healing and hope through counseling. My goal is to provide a caring, accepting environment for my clients to feel safe, valued, and heard.

“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive” -Brené Brown. Thank you so much for visiting my site. What I have learned about being a human, let alone a therapist, is that everybody has a story. My job is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to tell your story. Life can be very difficult for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes these struggles can feel overwhelming, leaving us confused and hopeless.
Successful therapy begins by meeting the client where they’re at. As a clinical therapist with a background in social work, I believe therapy should be client-centered within a feeling of safety and trust. Client needs differ by individual. I pull techniques from various well-known therapies, including CBT, DBT, and solution-focused, to best work through the issues affecting the client on a daily basis. The techniques I use are unique to those needs, and I act as a guide, partnering with the client to find the best path to success.
My purpose is to simply join you in understanding where you are, help comprehend where you want to be, and explore a plan on how you will get there. I believe everyone needs a listening ear, and my desire is for you to do well!
My approach to therapy involves acceptance of each client as a unique, worthwhile person, with value. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the key to recovery. Important ingredients in this relationship include empathy, trust, warmth, genuineness, and a non-judgmental attitude. I believe that every human is capable of self-discovery, change and growth. It is my task to help my client find his/her own individual way. As tools, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy and other approaches designed to treat the individual. Web therapy is available through Skype.
Are you trying the best you can, yet feel like it’s not enough? It’s easy to feel overwhelmed while juggling the numerous responsibilities of living in today’s society. Whether you are a student, teacher, child, or parent, we all struggle to measure up to our own expectations. Are you struggling to connect with what is important in life; feeling the crushing weight of procrastination; or struggling to achieve balance and feel happiness is a distant memory? If you’ve decided that enough is enough and are ready to take the all-important first step in reconnecting with who you are, allow me to help.
I see clients who are hurting, grieving, tired, and overwhelmed. They need a safe place to sort out their thoughts, emotions, and past experiences. Many times clients are searching for coping skills to deal with stress. They are looking for direction, to begin new healthy habits, and to make a change. Their goals are to not let the past define them, but to forge forward, and discover peace even in the center of life's chaos. There's so much out of our control, but discovering what we can control impacts every other faucet of life. Clients can learn to respond to life, instead of react.
I want my clients to know they are not alone, and that healing and peace are possible. Each Client has incredible worth and value. I offer a safe and nonjudgmental setting where you can feel comfortable sharing your burdens and offload the weight on your shoulders. Whether your struggle is anxiety, depression, or life/relationship issues, I hope to help you get to the root of your concerns and empower you to overcome. Especially for Clients who have trauma from experiencing abuse tactics such as gaslighting, manipulation, and any violation of boundaries, I hope to validate your experience and help you claim your life back.
So no one told you life was gonna be this way? At night you toss and turn worrying about the future. You wish you could stop overthinking and start enjoying life. You wish that you could stay motivated and start getting your life together. It seems like your friends all have it more figured out than you. You know life could be so much better, but you don't know how to get there.
