In my practice, I don't assume that I have all the answers. I collaborate with you, the client, in a caring, respectful manner to identify personal strengths, areas for improvement and a plan to get there. I view life challenges as "keys to learning" on your life journey. I help others to understand that there is "HOPE" and that effective communication skills, increased personal insight, coping/goal-setting skills are tools you can use to dramatically improve your life and the lives of those around you. Psychotherapy is my passion and I want to help you grow and lead a successful life.

I have spent more than two decades working in behavioral health, including extensive experience supporting individuals affected by substance use disorders.
You may feel emotionally exhausted, stuck in the same cycles, or unsure why things feel so heavy-even when you're doing everything right. Perhaps anxiety feels constant, relationships feel complicated, or past experiences continue to affect your present. You might know something needs to change-but aren't sure where to start. I believe therapy is not about "fixing" you-its about understanding what's beneath the surface and learning how to respond to yourself with more clarity and compassion. Many of us struggle we face make sense when we explore them in a safe, supportive space.

Sometimes the mind moves on while the body still feels stuck in survival. You may look functional on the outside while internally feeling exhausted, disconnected, reactive, numb, overwhelmed, or unable to fully settle. Therapy here is not about forcing yourself to “just talk about it” or pushing through what your nervous system has been carrying alone. My work is deeply trauma-informed, somatic, and experiential. I specialize in approaches that help access and process the deeper parts of the brain and nervous system where trauma, emotional pain, and protective patterns are often held.

I’m currently accepting new clients. Life can feel especially heavy when you’re trying to hold everything together while navigating stress, anxiety, or major transitions. Maybe you’re moving through a divorce, feeling disconnected in your relationships, or simply realizing you’ve outgrown old patterns that no longer serve you. You might look “fine” on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of what comes next.

I am passionate about working with pregnant and parenting moms who are juggling the constant demands of parenting while trying to hold space for their own needs and identities. Motherhood can be deeply fulfilling, but also incredibly exhausting. Many moms find themselves feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from the version of themselves they once knew, and what I've discovered as a therapist working with parents and families (and as a mom of 2 myself) that a mom taking care of her mental health is not selfish... it's giving her child the best gift—a healthy mom and a more rewarding parent-child relationship!

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
