Through my counseling practice, I desire to empower others to achieve a balanced state of wellbeing, discover their self-worth, reach their fullest potential, and live joyfully. I provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for my client’s voice to be heard. Past trauma and current life transitions can be painful and difficult; however, I believe that each of us has the ability to heal and grow stronger. Counseling is a tool that helps us recognize harmful beliefs and behavior patterns, learn new skills with which to resolve problems, and facilitate lasting positive change in our lives.

If you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, you know how exhausting it can be. Your mind doesn’t slow down, you second-guess yourself, and even small things can feel overwhelming.
I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, overthinking, and people-pleasing. Many of my clients are used to holding it together on the outside but feel stressed, drained, and stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break.
In therapy, we focus on understanding what’s driving those patterns and building practical ways to manage them.

The ideal client is one that is willing to work in session and practice out of session. I work best with clients that are willing to be honest and raw with me. I respect someone that can voice their truest thoughts/feelings/and behaviors because I will be equally direct with my identification of distortions in their thoughts and actions. The greatest acceptance of ourselves can only be achieved with an honest look inward. This honesty allows us see what strengths we desire to build and what needs we can reduce. With this direct, loving, and accepting approach, the counseling process can be maximized in its efficacy.

My passion is helping parents with children who struggle in school. I know first-hand how upsetting it is to see your child frustrated with school. This is the reason I started advocating. I didn't want another child or parent to suffer. I've been advocating for 14 years.

Does peace feel out of reach and impossible to imagine right now? Peace is crucial to our quality of life and integral to navigating life’s complexities and challenges. All too often we are in a silent war with ourselves and our brain and thought life can lead us to dark emotional places. Feelings of worthlessness, shame, anger, grief, and resentments chisel away at our vitality. All that remains is a heavy tiredness and sense of hopelessness that can make us feel incredibly alone. We are not created to handle soul crushing experiences on our own.

How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
