You don’t have to stay stuck. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s laid‑back, real, and genuinely committed to your growth, I’m here to help. I bring a relaxed style and a sense of humor, but I’m serious about your goals and the future you want. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I focus on creating a comfortable, judgment‑free space where you can explore what’s holding you back and move forward with clarity and confidence. My mission is simple: help you become the strongest, most grounded version of yourself. My approach is practical, down‑to‑earth, and tailored to real life—not textbook perfection.

As a therapist, I’m passionate about helping both teens and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and hope. I specialize in supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and life transitions. When working with teens, I enjoy working with those who are open to engaging in the therapy process. Therapy tends to be most effective when adolescents are willing to participate, share their experiences, and work collaboratively toward change. If a teen is strongly resistant or unwilling to participate, therapy may not be the right fit at that time.

Life can feel like a lot, especially when you’re trying to manage everything while dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, self-doubt, or changes you didn’t expect. I work with teens and adults who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or just need a place where they can be themselves and talk openly. You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to counseling. Together, we can sort through what’s going on, better understand what you’re feeling, work through the things that are weighing on you, and find realistic ways to move forward and feel more confident in yourself.

I believe therapy should feel human. I work with individuals, couples, families, and children of all ages and backgrounds. I work a little differently than you might expect. I don’t believe healing requires repeatedly reliving painful experiences. Trauma and uncomfortable situations happen, and we can’t change what happened. I can help you process what you need to, understand how the past affects the present, and move forward without letting it define your future. With couples, I focus on natural communication—not scripted phrases that make you sound like robots.

We believe in the resilience of people and the human capacity to overcome even the most difficult of circumstances. We each have the ability to tap-in to our inner power to heal, and therapy can offer an ideal environment for transformation to happen. In therapy, the client is always the most powerful instrument for change. Therapy is not fixing problems or giving advice, it's walking with people in their journey and bearing witness to their deepest truth. Providing a securely attached relationship, the therapeutic bond offers a healthy templet for future relationships and can transform how I see ourselves, others, and the world.

Life doesn’t come with a manual, especially when you're balancing different cultures, family expectations, or big life transitions. I help children, including those on the autism spectrum, find their voice, Asian Americans navigate identity and family dynamics, and individuals break through what’s holding them back. Therapy with me is about understanding where you’ve been and creating a path toward where you want to go next.

Mental health challenges do not define an individual. They are natural human trials to be experienced. I’m an award-winning psychology researcher with over a decade of research expertise and I’m prepared to work with you. I approach the human condition as if we contain natural resources yet to be refined. There’s optimism in human nature and it contains hope to aspire towards greater self-understanding. Once a person becomes more self-aware of his/her behavior, it’s possible to change or adapt for the better.

I primarily work with professionals of color to help them find a sense of empowerment to take up space, find balance, and create peace in their everyday lives while staying true to their genuine and authentic selves. In therapy, my clients have uncovered that by investing in themselves and committing to doing to the work that they have found life to be more peaceful, favorable, and plentiful in so many ways. I help my clients not only get what they desire out of life, but get what they truly deserve. Whenever you are ready, I’m holding a space for you to reclaim and protect your peace.

You've spent years being the strong one — the one who holds the family together, translates the culture gap, absorbs everyone else's expectations before your own. Maybe anxiety shows up in your chest before big decisions. Maybe trauma from childhood or across generations still shapes how you love and trust. Maybe you're pregnant, postpartum, or grieving a pregnancy loss no one talks about, and you need a therapist who understands the cultural weight underneath it. I work with BIPOC adults, couples, and families ready to stop managing symptoms and start healing the root.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
