These settings have given me the experience needed to work with children and adolescents that are experiencing depression, anxiety, low
self esteem
, and self-harm or suicidal ideation.
Does it feel like you or your child lack motivation or self confidence? Does it feel like you or your child are anxious almost all day? Does it feel like you and your child do not communicate? Feeling this way can impact how we feel about ourselves and how we navigate our daily life. Let's work together to overcome these feelings and change this internal dialogue. You should feel comfortable to share these experiences when and how you are ready, I believe the client is the expert in their own life and take this approach in therapy.

Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, or low self-esteem? These feelings are often linked to past events that keep us looping in our lives. EMDR can help you reprocess through those memories and emotions that have left you feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Many times we feel like we understand logically how we want to feel, but our bodies don't seem to agree. EMDR can help bring your body and brain into alignment. In addition to traditional sessions, EMDR intensives are another option where therapy can be more condensed.

If this is you, I would love to help: Maybe your past is getting in the way of your present; you have experienced traumatic events or relationships that are affecting your current life; you keep falling into the same patterns of unhealthy relationships and want to break free from those patterns; your past has caused you to doubt your own potential, has affected your self-esteem, or has caused you to experience symptoms of depression and/or anxiety; you have lost someone you love and are overwhelmed with grief; or you have experienced recent changes in your life and struggling to adjust and find purpose in your life.

Do you struggle with a sexual trauma? Do you have childhood trauma? Are you battling an eating disorder? Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? Are you reeling from grief or loss? Do you have problems with self-esteem and/or identity? If so, you have probably tried to conquer it yourself. You may have been told to “buck up” or “get it together.” But, try as you might, you can’t. Of course, you can’t. That would be like telling someone with a broken leg to “walk it off.” You need help. You need an understanding, empathetic, trained Christian counselor to come alongside you and help you face your issue, root out the cause

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
