It can be exhausting to continuously prioritize the needs and feelings of other people. It is painful to feel like you are not good enough. It is challenging to feel connected when you are disconnected from yourself or others. That is where I like to help. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients reclaim their identity and sense of self, help them identify their own expectations and standards, to teach them how to advocate for themselves, and to find their compassionate voice.

You’re not broken—you’re just stuck. Maybe your relationship feels more like roommates than partners. Maybe you’re trying to hold it all together while raising kids, managing a career, or simply trying to remember who you are outside of all the roles you fill. You’re tired of feeling disconnected—from your partner, your purpose, even yourself. You want real change, not surface fixes. My ideal clients are done pretending everything’s fine. They want a space where they can be seen, heard, and supported in rebuilding what matters most—in their relationships and within themselves.

Hi, I'm Nici, and I'm glad you are here. I started Crown of Hope Counseling after six years of experience as a chaplain at a trauma level one hospital, feeling utter heartbreak at never knowing how the grieving individuals I served were coping after the immediate grief season. Grief extends far beyond the few days after loss, and I am passionate about walking with you on the journey to healing and hope. I believe in wholeheartedly continuing the legacy of the ones who have passed. Their death is not a period, but a comma— A story that continues to unfold with an abundance of love.

Crown of Hope was born from a simple but sacred desire: to be a refuge for those navigating painful seasons, a place where even the faintest thread of hope could be held with care. What began as a solo practice has gently grown into a vibrant community of clinicians—each one committed to meeting clients with compassion, honoring their stories, and walking alongside them toward healing, growth, and restoration. Our name reflects our heart: to lift up hope, even when it feels hidden behind the clouds. We believe in the dignity of every person, the importance of honoring one’s beliefs, and the transformative power of being truly seen.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
